Shrimp for garnish may t>e bought frozen in the shell, or already peeled and devetned> In any case, it's best to start with uncooked shrimp, * ' ^ SEAFOOD NORMANDY 1 package frozen fish fillets (cod, 2 egg yolks haddock, sole or ocean perch) $4 cup light creaffS 1 lb. shrimp fresh or frozen, or 1 small can sliced mt. 8 OZ. peeled and deveined shrimp heated and drained V< cup soft butter or margarine , Buttered toast triangles 1 tablespoon flour * ¥ Let fillets thaw on refrigerator shelf, or at room temperature. Cook shrimp three to five minutes in boiling salted water (1 teaspoon salt to 1 quart of water) or water to which pickling spices have been added. Drain shrimp but save 1 cup of the cooking liquid. Melt 1 tablespoon butter in a large frying pan and prrange fillets in pan. Add reserve cooking liquid and bring to boil. Reduce heat so that liquid just simmers; cook slowly, covered, about 10 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily when tested with a fork. Arrange fish in center of hot platter and place shrimp around fish. Keep hot while you cream together soft butter andf flour and stir into liquid in pan. Cook, stirring constantly, until thick-' ened, about 5 minutes. Beat egg yolks and cream together with a fork •nd stir into cream sauce. Bring sauce back to simmer point, but do not let boil. Pour over fish. Garnish with mushrooms and buttered toas^f triangles. Makes 6 servings. for Election Tuesday, 4 For Constable For Assessor Lawrence "Larry" Murray of 414 Parkview, McCullom Lake is the Citizens party candidate for constable, in the Third Judicial District. Mr. Murray, is a ten-year resident of this cbmmunity, the last three of which were spent as chief of police of the village of McCullom Lake. He is an employee of the Illinois Bell Telephone Company. The constable candidate received his education in the Chicago school system . and attended FBI training schools. He has always been interested in police 1 type work and is a member of the McHenry County Deputy Sheriffs association and the Illinois Police association. He also belongs to the McHenry AF&AM. Lawrence and Betty Murray have four children, Judy, 16, Janet, 13, Laurie, 9, and Peggy, 3. Sigurd Jacobsen of Rt. 1, Ringwoodr'a Republican, seeks the office of constable in District 3 at the township election. Lester and Eva Bacon have three children. Mr. Bacon also has eight sisters and four brothers. For Assessor For Assistant Supervisor For Justice Of The Peace Richard Marshall of rural McHenry is a candidate for justice of the peace ^on the Republican ticket in Judicial District No. 3. He is an employee of the equipment branch <4 Western Electric company. In 1957, he was elected a McHenry township justice of the peace, and as such, served on the township board for the past four years. .Mr. Marshall is a charter member of the Johnsburg rescue squad, which he has served as secretary-treasurer for eight years. He has been a member of the board of education of School District, No. 12 for four years, two of which he has been secretary. Other memberships include the Illinois Township Officials, tibe Illinois Police association and the Johnsburg Community dub. He attended elementary and high school in Chicago and recently completed advanced-courses in a graduate engineering program. He and his wife, Constance, have two children, Timothy and Pamela. For Board Of Auditors One of the GOP candidates for the office of township auditors is B. Fred Haubold of 316 Fox Lake road, Pistakee Highlands. He has been a local resident for the past six years. | Mr. Haubold attended Crane Technical school and ..Columbia Business college in Chicago. He is employed by the Milwaukee Railroad in a supervisory capacity and is a member of the Railroad Yardmasters Association of America. This year, Mr. Haubold is serving as president of thg Pistakee Highlands Community association, an organization he previously served as vice-president. Mr. Haubold and his wife, Carol, have two children, Karen and Garda. A. M. "Gus" Freund, the Republican nominee for McHenry township assessor, is a resident of 408 Riverside Drive, McHenry. He was born in Spring Grove, at* tended grade school in JohnsburgrrjMwi high school in McHenry. His entire lifetime has been spent in this area. Mr. Freund retired in 1958 after owning and operating the McHenry Equipment company for more than a quarter of a century. For ten years, Mr. Freund was fire chief of the McHenry Volunteer Fire department and is now president and trustee of the McHenry Fire Protection district. He is a member of the Knights of Columbus and The Catholic Order of Foresters. In 1936, he was . married to the former Agnes Steffes, They have two children, Alan and Cynthia. The Citizens party candidate for justice of the peace in the third judicial district is Charles M. Adams of 209 Grand avenue, a lifelong resident of McHenry. He is a McHenry graduate of ' the local schools and of justice regional work plans. f For the past eight years, he has served as a justice of the peace and was on the board of auditors during that time. Mr. Adams is employed by the Bar- J rjUigton Press as a junior executive, and also holds membership in the International Typographical Union. He is treasurer of the McHenry Personal Loan 6orp. The justice candidate is a member of the Catholic Order Of. Foresters, the AF of L and the Illinois Township Officials. Mr. Adams and his wife, Mariclare, have one son, Craig, 3J6 years old. I Foster E. Glorch off® 121 Prairie, Lakeland Park, is one of three candidates for auditor on the Republican ticket. Mr. Glorch is vice-president of the Lakeland Park Property Owners association and also | acts as co-ordinator of affairs and com- | mittees of the association. Other mem- | berships include those in the Moose, the | Fox Valley Police Reserve, as well as | being institutional representative of the | Cub Scouts of Lakeland Park. | The GOP candidate, his wife, Doro- | thy, and two children, Larry and Don- | aid, have lived in this area for the past three and one-half years. Mr. Glorch is employed as a sheet metal worker. During World War II he saw service with the United States Coast Guard amphibious forces. For Board Of Auditors Arnold J. Rauen of 605 Regner road, Pistakee Bay, is a candidate for a seat on the board of auditors on the Citizens party ticket. He has been a justice of the peace for twenty-one years and' is now on the board. Mr, Rauen is a graduate of Jasper college with degrees in business and personnel administration. At present, he is* assistant-vice-president of the Ameri- ^ can National Bank and Trust Co., of Chicago. He also is, or has been, an p tofficer in the following: Pistakee Yacht club, Marmion Military academy, Mc- Henry Savings and Loan, McHenry In- i! surance association, National Advisory Council, U. Mr. and Mrs. Rauen (the former Leona Regner) have one daughter, Barbara. ^ A candidate for township auditor on the GOP ticket is Gerald J. "Bud" Elbersen of Wonder Lake. Mr. Elbersen's experience in the field he seeks includes the dual functions of justice of the peace and township auditor for the last eight years. At present, he is a member of the Township board, the Wonder Lake Cham ber of Commerce, the Moose lodge and the Elks. For the last sixteen years, Mr. jEJlbprsen has been a milk distributor in th« McHenry area and also has a real estate and insurance office in Wonder Lake. The family moved to Wonder Lake after his educational pursuits at Austin college. Gerald Elbersen and his wife, the former Geraldine Donash, have a daughter, Cheryl. Harold H. Freund of Rt. 5, McHenry, seeks a seat on the board of auditors as a member of the Citizens party. A lifetime resident of this area, Mr. Freund is presently employed at Hettermann's service station in Johnsburg, in which community he resides. He also drives a school bus. A veteran of World II, Mr. Freund now serves as a lieutenant of the fire department, has been secretary of the Johnsburg Community club and was an organizer of the Johnsburg boy's league He also belongs to the Catholic Order of Foresters and at one time Was chief ranger. Mr. Freund and his wife, Jacqueline, have three children, Donna Lee, 16, Mary Ellen, 10, and Douglas, 4. Joseph Sullivan, a resident of Wonder Lake for the past thirteen years, seeks membership on the board of auditors as a member of the Citizens party. Mr. Sullivan was educated at Wright Junior college and - the University of Michigan, and later served as lieutenant in the Arirfy. He is district manager of the Great States Life -insurance company,., with duties in four counties. Organization memberships include the veterans clubs, Kiwanis, and at present, he is vice-president of the Wonder Lake club. Mr. Sullivan is unmarried. Mr. Rogers attended grade and high school in Oak Park. On July.l, 1961, hfretired from the Standard Oil company after serving as the McHenry rural area agent for twenty-five years. He was an active member of the McHenry school board, District No. 15, for ten years. At present, he is a member of the Elks lodge and the Masonic lodge. Mr. Rogers is married to the former Katherine Kane of Chicago. They have four children, John, Marriane, Gerald and Donald. 4* H. He was educated in McHenry, Chicago and New York, and came to this community to make his home forty years ago. Mr. Anderson, one of twelve children, is married to the former Marion Weingart. They have one daughter, Carol Jean, a junior in high school. After being associated with a local garage for several years, he entered into business for himself in 1949, and continues in that business today. He was a charter member of the local 4-H club, is a member of St. Man's Holy name society and a contributor to" the McHenry Art Fair. ' o
