" SSAC Nominate Officers Looks like Clarence will preside over the Shores Social and Athletic dub this forthcoming year as both Clarence Schweikfert and Clarence Mueller were nominated to run for the office it president. Nominations for other officers selected at the recent meeting are as follows: Vice- president, Chuck Whitney and Harry Tiggemann; Secretary, JJiJl postal and Jack Schmitt; Treasurer, Art Brunke and Ed Olbinski; and Director, Ken Schopp and Art Clcchini. Election of officers will be „held at the next regular meeting in April. .Another Friday night of basketball is planned for fathers and sons. >vBill Dostal and Harry Tiggemann are working out a ping p o n g t o u r n a m e n t s c h e d u l e ^hich will be played in the near future. -Harry Tiggemann and Clarence Schweikert have volunteered their services to work Hi Neighbor- The John Korners on Hilltop boulevard came to the Shores frem Chicago in July, 1959. They moved here because they love to be out in the open where their two boys can enjoy the fields and the river. John Korner is in "Insurance" and specializes in the technical aspects „pf the business. He attended both Sam Houston State Teachers college in Huntsville, Texas, and Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago. John is active in community affairs and is currently serjeant-at-arms for the McHenry Shores club. One of his most valuable contributions to progress in the American way is his work as advisor in junior achievement activities in Chicago. For the past six years he has assisted in teaching young men and women the fundamentals of American business by guiding them in their actual participation in various businesses organised and operated by the students. Gladys attended high school in Johnston City, 111., her home town, and has her day very well occupied with managing a husband and two 'teen-age boys. John Jr., is a high school student and Bill attends junior high school in McHenry. The IYere and There Again the McHenry Shores area was very well represented this week in a social affair in McHenry. On Tuesday, March 21, a group of twentylive ladies attended a benefit card party and style show given by the Women's auxiliary of McHenry hospital. Irene Middlekauff and Bea MacCalluni were two of the hostesses ,for the event. A W e d n e s d a y a f t e r n o o n luncheon and card party at Mildred Snively's home was very • entertaining and proved very rewarding to the lucky ladies holding the highest scores. Wednesday evening, another group of McHenry Shores residents enjoyed a smorgasbord at a "Meet the Candidates' rally in Island Lake. Thursday evening the Clausens entertained a number of local residents with a luncheoi. and card party. McHenry v Shores Club The April 6 meeting of the MSC at V.F.W. is important to all. The membership will receive the slate of candidates prepared by the nominating committee to fill the six vacancies on the board of directors and will have the opportunity of. nominating additional candidates from the floor if they so desire. Refreshments will be served and games are scheduled after what is expected to be a short session. The club wants to serve the community and this once-a-month gathering provides everyone with |he opportunity to meet their neighbors and exchange" news and views.
