Howard, a lifetime resident of McHenry, Seeks re-election to the board in High School District 156. jfete has served on the board for the past nine years, the last four as secretary. Mr. Howard, manager of Gem Cleaners on Elm street, is a graduate of the McHenry high school and the National Institute of Dry Cleaning. For the past four years, he has served as police magistrate in the city. He is past governor of the Moose lodge and also holds memberships in the Knights of Columbus and Foresters. Mr. Howard and his wife, Vivian, have two sons, Ronald, who has graduated from high school, and Terry, who now ttends high school. Carl J. Neiss of 17 Hillcrest Place,, Hiller's subdivision, .JHcHenry, is a candidate for a seat on the board of McHenry High School District 156. He is a life- r Slme resident of the area. A candidate for the high school board of education is •-JL Ralph Bennett of 427 Riverside Drive, McHenry. He is a "thirty-year resident of the community and operates his own business, McHenry Heating and Air Conditioning. Mr. Bennett received his education in' the Rockford grade and high schools before moving to McHenry. He has served for a number of years on the board of District 156 and has :$>een president for the past several years. Among his many other activities, he lias been an officer of the McHenry hospital board and a member of the Johns- 3&urg Community club, swimming pool -board and McHenry county chairman for the University of Illinois. Mr. Bennett and his wife, the former Dorothy Marshall, have four children, Ralph, 25, Zelinda, 20, Christopher, 16 and -Jereniy, 12. For Grade School Board Mrs. M. Lois Peterson of Rt. 1, McHenry, seeks reelection to the board in Grade District 15, an office she has held for the past three years. Mrs. Peterson, a high school graduate, has been a member of the community for the past fifteen years. During this time she has been active in the PTA for ten years and is a charter member. Two years she served as secretary and for two years was president. She has engaged in youth work in her church and is secretary of the Eastern McHenry County Plan association. Mrs. Peterson and her husband, Charles R. Peterson, have three daughters, Virginia, a junior, and Valerie, a .freshman, in high school, and Vicki, who is in kindergarten. Albert R. Kissling of 610 Allen Avenue McHenry, is a "Candidate for membership on the board of Consolidated district 15. i; Mr. Kissling has conducted his busr$ iess, the Koehr Supply Co., on Crystal Xake road, for three years. He has Resided locally for the past two years. He iS a graduate of Heidelberg college, Tiffin, Ohio, in business administration and attended the University of -Cincinnati and Elmhurst college, as well lis various specialists' schools while in the Army. Mr. Kissling seeks office on the school •board for the first time this year. He has served as a member of the Elmhurst .Memorial hospital board. Other memberships include the 3WcHenry Rotary club and the Masonic lodge and shrine. Mr. and Mrs. Kissling have two children, Bert, 15, a Jtigh school sophomore, and Becky, 1^ in seventh grade. Thomas Lawson of 409 W. John street, a lifetime resident of McHenry, seeks the office of school board "||iember in Grade School District No. 15. He is a graduate of McHenry high school with the class of 1945 and seeks a board position for the first time this year. Mr. Lawson is a member of the American Legion and the Knights of Columbus and is a Boy Scout adviser. He is presently employed as a rural mail carrier on Rt. 8, McHenry. Thomas and Ruth Josephine Lawson have six children, including two sets of twins. They are Nancy and Linda, 10, in fifth grade at Landmark school; Janet, -A. .. 8, a second grader at St. Patrick's school, 35avid and Diana, 5, and Donna, 2. Remember all trash that is to be picked up is to be in cartons or garbage cans. The following Wednesday, April 15. the disposal service will pick it up.
