The Kelloggs, Bob, Pat, Butch, Mike and David, had a wonderful weekend visiting Pat's sister and family in Indianapolis, Ind. There was a special occasion for this trip as Pat's niece Tracey celebrated her third birthday. Brownies Betty Radner and Rosemarie Newlon took the Easter baskets tc the Children's Home in Woodstock. Brownies did not meet this week. They will meet on Monday, April 10, and have election of officers. .Rummage. Sale The committee for the rummage sale have decided to hold E.M.P.O.A. Luncheon Surprise Louise Wiegman was going to go out to lunch when Betty Radner, Winnie Hansen, Lois McCormack and Rosemarie Newlon walked in with lunch all prepared for Louise's birthday. This library has a wide selection of books for all ages, adult as well as children^ • ATTENDANCE AT McHENRY STATE PARK INCREASES Illinois' state parks and memorials attracted 8,378,571 visitors during I960, the Illinois Department of Conservation reported today. The 1960 attendance total was 147,088 less than the 8,- 525,659 reported by the Department for 1959. Heading the list ag«in as the most popular tourist attraction was New Salem State Park near Petersburg, which drew 986,204 visitors. This was a decrease of 114,246 from the 1959 attendance. Starved I^ock State Park was the second most popular park with a 1960 attendance of 821,956, a decrease of 69,- 573 from 1959. Two Springfield sites each drew more than a half million visitors. Lincoln's Tomb reported 574,329 and Lincoln s Home 561,264. Illinois Beach State Park, near Waukegan, reported 556,- 224 visitors, an increase of 150,3^0 over 1959. Conservation Department officials said the decline in attendance during 1960 was due to bad weather on several holiday weekends and also to a general nationwide decrease in tourist business. The McHenry dam' had an increase in number of visitors from 66,938 in 1959 to 88,534 in 1960. Holiday Hills WILL ELECT OFFICERS FOR CIVIC LEAGUE Rita Oleyar An organization known as the Nunda Township- Civic League will hold election of officers at its April 16 meeting. Thirty-nine subdivisions are presently represented in the League. A letter explaining the purpose and aims of the organization will be read to rtiembers at the next meeting of the H.H.P.O.A. The membership will be asked to approve Holiday Hills participation in the league. This is not an entirely new organization. Members of the Nunda Township Civic League w e r e i n s t r u m e n t a l s e v e r a l years ago in helping to straighten out a mix-up in the school districts. A 6 lb., 2 oz., daughter was born to Barbara seconds after they arrived at St.' Joseph's hospital in Elgin. The little girl, as yet unnamed, is the fifth child for the Cutis. The other children in the family are Sandra, wtio is eight; Frank, six; Kathy, two, and Debbie, who is just Mary Jungwirth in Accident Mary Jungwirth is recuperating from an accident which occurred when the car she was driving was hit head-on by another on, Friday night, March 24. Mary suffered head, and back injuries and he£ car was severely damaged in the crash The driver of the other car was arrested for leaving the scene of an accident and driw ing on the wrong side of the road. Mary was on her way to work at the McHenry hospital when the accident occurred.
