Jourdan, Sr., of 620 Regner road, McHenry, became the bride^ of Mr. Richard William Wiriimer, son of Mr. and <jyirs. Frank Wimmer of Pistakee Bay road. Rev. Fr. The bride selected a floor length, princess style dress which featured a lace bodice, long sleeves, scalloped neckline and tulle Skirt with lace insert. Her fingertip veil fell from a crown headpiece and she carried a cascade bouquet of white roses tipped in pink. Miss Carol Frisby of Sunnyside acted as maid of honor and Miss Charlene Freund of Johnsburg, Miss Nancy Wohlert and Mrs. Patti Ray of McHenry were bridesmaids. They wore mint green sheath dresses of embroidered nylon over taffeta, with full over-skirts, \and carried white carnations yrith pink tips in colonial bouquets, tied with white stream' s. ( . DEVOTE GARDEN CLUB MEETING TO FUTURE PLANNING Luncheon at Pistakee Golf club preceded the meeting of the McHenry Garden club on Thursday, April 27. A. new slate of officers was installed and Mrs. Carroll Dietle, president, cor ducted the meeting, which was entirely devoted to planning the programs and activities for the coming year. As it has in the past, the club will sponsor a student to attend , the conservation school at Northern Illinois university this summer. This is one of the phases of the extensive program that will be fostered for conservation throughout the state and in our local territory. Some definite plans are being formulated and will be announced from time to time. Mrs. George Johnson, chairman of the fruit and flower committee, attended the state meeting of the guild in Chicago. She brought to members' attention the complimentary article in a Chicago newspaper citing the splendid work, being done by this organization, and also gave a verbal report of the. meeting. The McHenry Garden club is a generous donator to all of the collections sponsored by the Fruit and Flower guild in providing for patients and residents of hospitals and institutions. Mrs. Alex K. Duncan was welcomed as a new member. The out-going president, Ruth Neel, was thanked for her leadership in the past two years and Was presented with a small token of the club's appreciation. A report by John Strohm of the scholarship committee was read at the meeting. Meetings of the Father's club are always held on the fourth Tuesday of every month. Election of officers for 1961- 62 will be held at the next meeting of the club which will be the fourth Tuesday of June.
