They attributed the success to John Hayes and Betty Radner, who were on their committee, and also to Milt McHale, who worked so hard. They also are grateful to those who contributed clothing and other items to the cause. Faith Presbyterian Church Sunday, May 28 -- The Sermon for this Sunday is entitled, "Christian Contentment". This Is the fourth and last sermon in a series on Paul's Letter to the Philippian church. New Arrivals Lee and George Landin and the girls are all proud and happy over the arrival of a baby boy at their home and they are all admiring the two teeth that he was born with. Steven Robert Landin chose Mothers' Day as a fitting time to put in his appearance. He weighed in at 8% lbs. Willie and Jim Bergstrom, formerly of our subdivision, and now residents of Ocean City, N. Kenny Bianchi recently made a rush trip to the hospital for some repair work when he put his hand through the storm door. His mother reports that he is coming along fine now and did not require any stitches. A1 and Am Koerper celebrated their twentieth anniversary recently as the guests of honor at a party held in the home of Grace and Dick Gruhn. Kay and Mel Stephenson, Kutz and Donna Rohrer and E. .T. and Lois Zender all joined in the celebration. Rita Simpson was the Bridge Club hostess on Wednesday evening. May 17. Marilyn Truckenbrod was the first prize Winner and Hannah Harner travelled home with the travelling prize. Carol and John Hayes have just returned after spending a couple of days in Rockton. Peg .and Homer Anderson and Elpha and Bill Philippi dined in Algonquin on Thursday evening, May 18, in celebration of the Philippis' fifteen wedding anniversary. On Tuesday evening, May 16, the Tom Birminghams, Len Hansens, Warren Krebses, Len Lawrences, Tim McCormacks and Tom Simpsons of Eastwood Manor and the Bill Davidsons of Hunterville Park were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Vorese for dinner and an evening on the town in the Chicago area. Holiday Hills WOMAN'S CLUB TO HEAR TALK ON YOUTH PROBLEMS Rita Oleyar Rev. Eugene Maxwell, superintendent of the Woodstock Children's home, Will speak at the June meeting of the Holiday Hills Woman's club. The subject matter of his remarks will concern young people and juvenile delinquency. Rev. Maxwell is in great demand as a speaker for clubs snd organizations in this area. His years of experience well qualify him to advise parents on the training of their children and young people. Woman's club meetings are the second Wednesday of each month at St. John's Lutheran church in Island Lake. Pat Roth and Jeanne Baird are in charge of arrangements for the program. Dance Recital Planned Students in the dancing classes sponsored by the Woman's club will present a recital for parents and guests Friday evening, June 16, at the Congregational chUrch social hall in Island Lake. There will be a small charge to cover expenses. The committee in charge of arrangements consists of Jeanne Baird, Loretta Exline, Jimmie Justes, Chadie Ary and Connie Catanzaro. Celebrate Silver Anniversary Ray and Marcella Strossner were toasted by over forty friends and relatives on the occasion of their twenty-fifth wedding anniversary Sunday, May 7. Treasurer Resigns Loretta Oszgandy resigned her position as Woman's Club treasurer effective immediately. Loretta and her family have sold their home here and will move to Florida to live at the end of the school year. Ted and Loretta and sons, Dick and Teady, have lived in Holiday Hills five years and will oe missed by their friends and neighbors. Josephine Janik volunteered to fill out Loretta's unexpired term. Day Camp Set The annual Girl Scout day camp will be held July 10 through 14 on a tract in Cooney Heights in McHenry, according to camp co-directors Marge Potratz and Shirley Haufe. Farewell Party The Mettelkas entertained Carl and Jean Grounds and children at a barbecue Sunday, the fourteenth. The Grounds family has sold the home they've had here for three years and will leave in June for Indiana. Jean's father has several farms and a large chicken farm near Richmoijdi- Ind. and Carl will be employed there. We're sorry to see them go, and wish the whole family all the best in their new life.
