The first will be Sunday, June 18, and successive Sundays, June 25 and July 2. Tuesday, July 4, is a race followed by July 9 and July 16, which is a switch boat race, or teenage day. Commodore Georgeson appointed a committee at the last meeting to lay out three or four standard courses. They ai>9 Hal Thorsen, John Harris, and A1 Sinden. Course to be sailed will be designated by the racing committee immediately prior to each race. Racing committee is composed of Hal Thorsen, vicecommodore, John Georgeson, judge; and Oluf Nielsen, cear commodore. Highland Shores Annual Picnic Saturday, July 1, is the date set for the annual Highland Shores picnic, held at the subdivision beach. In case of rain the date will be July 2. Ways and means committee is composed of Betty Kleopfer, Mary B o o k e r , P a t B a u d i n , Tom Dockery, Mrs. Donald Laird and Mrs. James Fung. A juke box will furnish music Jor dancing in the aftern< «m, and a live band will play for the evening, with allaround dance music designed to appeal to all ages. Food at reasonable cost and refreshments will be available, with the salads contributed by the women of the subdivision. A bake sale will also be held with the ladies again contributing their home baked products. Th?. fracas starts at 12 noon aiw the proceeds will be applied to the subdivision community building fund. Clan Gathering The annual Woodward party to celebrate Mort's birthday wa> enjoyed Sunday with relatives from Chicago and Pel and Charlene from Oshkosh among the guests. Guest of honor was Mart's mother, Mrs. Laura Je|S?n, who is spry and enjoying fine health in her eighties. They all enjoyed the weather, boating and a cook-out. Many happy returns, Mort! J'Ann is a biology major and both have completed their freshman year. News of Peggy, who graduated from Clarence Olson last week, is that she takes off for Door county next week to take unher summer job at the riding stable at Ephram. Card Party Tonight Tonight, June 15, at 8 p.m. at Harrison school there will be a card party and bake sale, with table prizes and refreshments served by the Wonder Lake Garden club. Come and get acquainted. Mrs. William Fiala vyas hostess at the last meeting of the club. Mrs. Fred Halbauer was a guest for the evening. The conservation pledge was read by Mrs. A. Nagel, and Mrs. Dorothy McEachren read a poem titled, *Why do I make a Garden". Roll call topic was, "Name a plajit that grows well for you in the shade". Crescent shaped flower arrangements were made by the members working with tulips. Mrs. Arthur Hoppe made hers, using about eight early red peonies. Bible Church News Sunday, June 18, at the evening service an army chaplain, Lt. Forsythe from Ft. Sheridan will be the speaker, with Mrs. Forsythe as vocalist. Applications for summer Bible camp are now available at the church for either Lake Geneva youth camp, or Barakel in Fairview, Mich. Information is also available for the Pal's Awana Boys club and Pioneer Girls camps. The Ladies Missionary Guild picnic will be held Thursday. June 15, for the ladies and their families. They will leave the church at 3:30 p.m. and meet at Woodstock city park pavillion at 4 p.m. Those who can't come during the afternoon may join the others for supper at 6 o'clock. Each family is to bring his own food and table service, and also a dish to pass. Christ The King Church News The Rev. James A. Vanderpool announces the appointment of a temporary assistant for the summer. He is the Rev. Thomas F. Coughlin, a newly ordained priest whose home parish is St. Joseph's in Elgin. Altar Boys will meet Saturday morning at 10:30 a.m. to welcome Father Coughlin who will act as director of altar boys, assisted by Mr. Otto Kersten and Mrs. Kersten chairman of the altar boys' mothers. All altar boys should attend this meeting. Any new boys desiring to serve--now in fourth grade or older, should also attend the meeting. Congratulations are in order for the altar boys who took top honors last Saturday at the Serra club picnic. Catholic Teen Town now meets at the youth center at 7:30 p.m. Sunday nights.
