Police Notice The Lakemoor police will start checking all cars for vehicle tags. Acting Chief of Police Herbert Brossman will have his men ticket all cars that do not have vehicle tags displayed upon the windshield of their motor vehicle. A fish fry on Baseball Notes My schedules tells me the Johnsburg Tigers are to travel to Kenosha for a game beginning at 7:30 p.m. Also lots of Softball activity on the V.F.W. grounds on Tuesdays and Thursdays of •each week. Hettermann's team is putting on a real good show this year and playing ball like mad. Why not see a few of these exciting, games. Birthday Boy Little Johnny Frett, son of Carol and Wally, was "king of the roost" last Sunday .at a party honoring his first birthday. Relatives gathered in the Frett home to help Johnny celebrate his big day. His actual date of birth is July 15 though the party took place the following day. Rescue Squad Calls Early last Sunday evening the rescue squad was called to Kings subdivision where a man was overcome while swimming. He was taken to the McHenry hospital in the squad ambulance. Once again a little reminder to purchase your tickets for the forthcoming rescue squad dance. This is one small way you can show your appreciation to your rescue squad for the great job they have done and will continue to do in the future. McHenry Shores FUN FAIR HELD AT BEACH DREW GOOD ATTENDANCE Terry Coates - Sara Partain On July 8 the "Fun Fair" was held at the beach. The weather man was very good to us and a wonderful crowd enjoyed themselves from noon until the wee small hours. The treasurer reports that the results financially were very satisfactory and the net receipts will be used to augment our treasury to provide funds for worthy civic projects as they become necessary and are approved by the board of directors of the McHenry Shores club.. The officers and directors' of the club appreciate the wonderful cooperation shown by the ladies in donating pies and cakes and for the hard wdik by those who hauled picnic tallies and other necessary equipment from Wonder Lake fife department. Mr. Micritz, Jack Schnlitt and Mr. Pouor provided for the use of their trucks. Note: How many of you had the pleasure of watchine "Man Mountain Micritz" shouldering one of the heavy forms and carrying it as if it was a tooth-pick? Our eratitude also to all those who cave freely of their time in serving at the several booths and concessions. Alice Brunke. chairman of the vvavs and means committee and her co-worker, Paula Tigeemann, and their committee members put in long hours of work. Mildred Snively had a few neighbors in recently at a dinner birthday party for Norman Medeiros and on Wednesday, July 12, Mildred had as her guests the following neighbors Mrs. Jack Verstege, Mrs. August Smith and Hazel Mac- Laughlin at a luncheon and card party given at the estate of Dr. Smith of Chapel Hill. The party was given by the McHenry Garden club. Also attending were Mrs. Alec Duncan, Mrs. Stuart Rode, Mrs. Edmund Hogan and her mother, Mrs. Julie Huprecht. Mrs. Duncan served on the committee. Mr. and Mrs. Harry H. Milr ler and their daughter, Ruth, spent a few days in Cedar Rapids and Waterloo, Iowa. Sorry they missed the "Fun Fair". Ruth and Fred Dodge have as their house guests Ruth's mother and aunt from Massachusetts. Mr. and Mrs. Ron Verstege attended the wedding reception of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Mallo on Saturday, July 8, in' Schiller Park. Bill Korner is spending a week in Chicago with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Korner entertained John's mother arid dad from Chicago and also guests from Racine, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Bartels, Mr. and Mrs. Arnie Kruse and children; and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Sheppard and children on July 9. The neighbors of Mrs. Helen Jacek will all be happy to hear that she returned home from the Woodstock hospital on July 6 and that we all wish her a speedy recovery. A Reunion The Alee K.
