Adding to the list of events, the committee has now announced the feature attraction of the day will be several performances of a magic show. In the event you missed last week's column, and those of you who didn't, we'll refresh your memory, this is what will take place. The picnic will lie held at the river beach on Riverview Drive on Sunday, Sept. 30. Included in the lis; of events, are pony rides, a cake walk, dancing, refreshments and games of skill and dancing. There was a pup tent pitched right outside the front door. Now I don't know if Eunicc put it there or wh.:t, but the story goes this way. Eunice and Dawn had a pajama party inside and De; n and Chuck camped outside It was a chilly night for camping, but they all had fun. Neighborly Notes Lorraine and Dick Bonds entertained Mr.'and Mrs. Mike Meredilh of Chicago at thcii home qn Holiday Drive recently. Mrs. Meredith is a cousin of Lorraine's and Mr. Meredith is a political re-write man for a Chicago paper. On a sadder note, Lorraine and Dick went to Chicago i,o attend the funeral of George Freece, an old time friend and neighbor. •• Spring Grove KABIT OF SISTERS OF DIVINE SAVIOR GIVEN MARY KAGAN Eva Freund Sew and So's The Sew and So's, n rlub formed some 15 years ago in Miss Mary Louise Kagan, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Louis L. Kagan of Spring Grove, was formally reeeived into the Congregation of the Sisters of the Divine Savior in Milwaukee on Saturday, Aug. 12. The ceremony was held "in the chapel at St. Mary's convent. Marv Lou was lovely dressed in her white satin bridal gown and tulle veil as she walked to the altar to receive the holy habit. Upon reentering the chapel with sixteen Novices clothed in the black habit of the order and the white veil "of the Novice. Mary Lou looked radiant as she knelt to receive her religious n a m e, Sister Mary Siena. The investiture was followed by a Solemn High " Mass celebrated by Msgr. Francis Beres. Two of Sister's five brothers took .part in the mass. Jim served and Leigh, a Major seminarian studying for the priesthood for the Rockford I.)ioee?e at St. Paul Seminary, participated with the priests at the altar. These included Rev. John L. Daleiden of Freeport. Sister's former pastor and Rev. and Mrs. Charles Korus was christened Sherri Lynne on Saturday, Aug. 5. The chaplain at DOW Air Force Base, Maine officiated at the baptismal. Birthday Club Ellen Eriekson entertained her birthday club on Aug. 10 The club started 25 years ago with a group of friends in Edison Park. Since that time they have met once a month.
