The storms have become so frequent that the public is almost disqusted with the service. We have heard it remarked that unless the conditions are improved the electric lights will be replaced with gas. The excursion boat "Alice." ihe passenger boat with the good reputation, will make excursion trips to Algonquin. 111. Wilniot, Wis., and Channel Lake. The trip to Channel Lake takes in eight lakes besides Pistakee Bay and Fox River, and also includes the lotus beds. The "Alice" seals sixteen passengers and is the only propeller boat which can run into the lotus beds so that passengers can pick the floweis without leaving their seats. Otto Kerner has signed into law this week legislation boosting the salaries of downstate county judges, effective after the November. 1961, election. Elm St. McHenry •8-24-61 MILK PRICES Dairy farmers shipping to the Chicago Order 41 market received a minimum of $3.74 per cwt. for base milk, including a superpool addition of 26 cents, and $3.48 per cwt. for excess milk delivered in July to plants within the 55 to 70- mile price basing zone, Harry L. Edwards, director of marketing. Pure Milk association, reported. The prices reported by Edwards are for milk of 3.5 percent butterfat test. The differential for each one-tenth of 1 percent of butterfat above or below 3.5 percent is 7.3 cents per cwt. . - +
