The proposed bylaws and constitution of the non-profit corporation charter for our community will be discussed. At the annual meeting in June the issue of forming a corporation was on Mie ballot and was favored by the majority of the voters. Since the election, steps have been taken by our new officers to carry out you^wishes. The workings of the new non-profit corporation will be explained in full at this meeting. A second maior topic at this meeting will be of special interest and benefit to the majority of our residents. This concerns the re-location and addition of new mail stops. Boy Scout News Some of the Boy Scouts of Troof) 144 went on an overnight campout at Richmond, Satuidav, Aug. 2fi. Theii activities included an archery contest, compass course and ability with an axe among others. Those participating were Birftoavis and dad, Red; John Fiedler, Jr. and John, Sr.; Richard Fredricks, Mike Haflner, Laird Kayler, Jr. and Laird, Sr., and Chrv Palterson. The lads and dads were escorted by Leader Ray Jensen and Institutional Represen t a t i v e Ted Bierchen. Mike Haffner completed his requirements for second class. ^oop 144 visited the Niki sit'near Waukegan Saturday, Sept. 2 and were conducted on a tour of the base. The boys also enjoyed having lunch in the mess hall with (he missle men. A Happy Occasion Mr. and Mrs. James Haninger of Indian Ridge drive were happy to have their son. Dr. Gl^yi Haninger, two grand- Page Fifteen daughters and four grandsons for an all too short visit recently. The children enjoyed being spoiled by Grandma and Grandpa and swimming in some of our lakes. Dr. and Mrs. Haninger reside in Columbus, Ohio where he is an obstetrician. Vacationers Mary and Red Davis are taking advantage of their vacations to do a little gaddin'. They and their small-fry, Bill, Neal, Mark, Monica and Maureen, spent a few days with Mary's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Doherty, in Moline. A day was spent at Brookfield Zoo and another day was spent visiting Field Museum. I wonder if Mark saw the "hippopossum" again at the zoo. her husband, Bill Wilke, and great-grandson, Richi, all of Chicago. The occasion was to celebrate Andy's birthday and Clif's and Andy's anniversary. They tantalized their neighbors with the aroma of good food cooked on the grill. holiday Hill* I .AST REMINDER OF OLD FASHIONED PICNIC SEPT. 10 Inez Young A Trip Jean Hammershoy took her two youngest children. Rosalyn and Ricky, for a two day visit to the Wisconsin state fair. They also visited Holy Hill, Wis., and climbed 200 steps to the steeple of the beautiful church' for the magnificent view of the countryside. VeekendW Pat Spindler's son, Jim, his wife, Rachel, and their children, Niki and Mark, of La Grange Park spent a recent weekend with Pat. The highlight of the visit was the celej brat ion of Jim's birthday with a big dinner and birthday cake. The following weekend Pat was hostess to her brother-inlaw, Art Lyons, and nephew, Edwin, of Berwyn. Let's Go Visitin' Let's go to visit the Felicetti family at 1717 W. Oakleaf drive. They moved to Sunnyside Estates from the northwest side of Chicago in July, 1957. There is Rose, Tom, 18 year old Rosemary and 19 year old Louie. Tom is a service man for a Chicago firm and enjoys g a r d e n i n g a n d p u t t e r i n g around their home. Rose is a wonderful cook and enjoys homemaking. Rosemary graduated from McHenry high school this past June and her ambition is to become a beautician. She enjoys bowling, boating and swimming. Louie has already started in the business w o r l d a f t e r g r a d u a t i o n f r o m McHenry high in 1960. He enjoys bowling and all other sports. Over-nlffhtcrs Millie Kropf's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Becvar, of Chicago came out for an-over-night visit recently. Returned Mr. and Mrs. William Schwieger and grandson, Dennie Banker, have just returned from a 2 week visit with their daughter and son-in-law and Dennie's aunt and uncle, Chrystal and Ed Stach, in Granite City, 111. New Arrival and Visitors One year old Richi Schank, first great-grandchild of Clif and Andy Sabby, has a new baby sister. 4 lbs., 1 oz., Donna Marie Schank was born Friday. Aug. 25. to Judy and Bernie Schank in Chicago. Late News The championship dinner for the Braves was held in the Peterson home, Jak-Aiia Heights last week. The ten boys and their parents enjoyed the delicious spaghetti dinner with all the trimmings, even a decorated cake, especially for the occasion. The highlight of the evening was the presentation of a trophy to each and every one. The team's manager, Harold Palmer, thanked the coaches! and parents for their help and support during the season. This news was through the courtesy of a sweet, little messenger girl, Kasey Anderson. NEW APPOINTMENT Gov. Otto Kerner announced this week the appointment of Joseph D. Nicol as superintendent of Criminal Identification and Investigation in the Illinois Department of Public Safety, the appointment taking effect Sept. 1. James Christ ensen, who has been acting superintendent, will remain with the division as an assistant to Nicol. This is the last reminder about our old fashioned picnic held this Sunday at the River Beach. Remember, to get there take Sunset Drive all the way down to the river and turn left. You'll see the picnic area from t here. Ladies who promised cakes for the cake walk, please deliver to Shirley Haufe or Marie Pofratz on Saturday, Sept. 9. Be sure to bring the^kiddies along to the picnic so they can enjoy the pony rides and the magician. Teenagers will enjoy the dancing and games and Mom and Dad, well, they'll find lots of things to enjoy. Wayne Leighty will present.a lecture and pictures on the Way of Life in India. It should be interesting to see the vast difference in their way of life from ours. Brownies and Girl Scouts have not set a definite date as yet but are looking for new recruits. Please watch this column for a definite date ami place for these meetings. Cub Scouts don't have a definite date either, but the Boy Scouts will be back at Wyczesanys on Friday evenings at 7:30. Dancing lessons will resume on Sept. 18 at the Abbink home at 1505 Evergreen. Lesson will be held on Mondays. The.. Pink Lady Auxiliary card club meets on the third Thursday of the month on Sept. 21. Neighborly Notes Susan, Marilyn and Ricky Ohm were visiting at the Young home for the second time this summer. They enjoyed their stay . earlier so much that .they came back for one more week of fun before heading back to Hinsdale and school again. There was a dual celebration at the Remis home on Holiday Drive Sunday. Aug. 27. Lorraine and Clarence celebrated his birthday and their wedding anniversary. Last Sunday the Met/gers were surprised to see Mr. and Mrs. John Diedrich and their two children from Chicago whom the Met/gers hadn't seen in 15 years. Visiting Beverly Boger has left on a vacation trip to Virginia to visit her brother.
