Minstreal Show The cast of the minstreal ,show is re-enacting their show Friday, Oct. 27, at the Woodstock Moose Lodge No. 1329. Or I should say he has finally arrived. A bouncing baby boy who was born to Toots Gerstad. He weighed in at 8 lbs., 3 ozs. and is 19M: inches long and was born on Oct. 1 at 12:10 p.m. We're all glad it's over with but not as glad as Toots is. Your reporter talked with her on the phone and she is in good health and spirits. ! Now we can all relax. Congratulations, Toots. Christening Little Matthew Grizely, Jr., was christened Sunday, Sept. 24. at St. Andrew's church in Chicago. His godparents ai-e Eva Schmidt of Chicago and Melvin Sims of Riverdale. The doings were held at grandma Grizely's home. Attending were aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents and his three big sisters and of course mom and dad. A buffet style dinner was served and enjoyed by all. Sympathy May we extend our deepest sympathy to Beverly and Jim Wickenkamp on the recent loss of Bev's grandfather. Louis Lovstad of Arlington Heights. Mr. Lovstad passed away Sunday, Oct. 1, after a short illness. Birthday Doings Stosh Pankiewicz celebrated his ninth birthday Wednesday. Sept. 27, with an after school party. Attending were Dell Gerstad, Billy Burns, Norbie Kwiatek, Robby Wickenkamp. Robby Revak, Tommy Kozicki, Tommy Wagner, and Paul Swelgel. Games, cake, pop, and ice cream were the highlights of the afternoon. K e i t h S c h a e d e l c e l e b r a t e d his third birthday last Saturday. The theme of the party was a circus and those attending were Elaine Bottari, Kristie, Johnny and < Kelly Flannigan. Patti Laursen and Keith's sister, Debbie. Dad Wally had a grand time supervising the games which were enioved by all the children. Cake, ice cream, candy and prises delighted all who attended. Oh, yes, grandpa Schaedel from Meadowdale was also there and spent the night. Carol Janicke had a birthday luncheon party Saturday. Sept. 30. The girls attending were Vicky Sicken, Diane Krater, Merilee Nehlsen, Jean Wright and Gail Braum. They played games and enjoyed chickenala- king, salad and the usual cake and ice cream. John Berendt had a birthday party last Monday, Sept. 25, in Lily Lake. Those present were members of a club in Edgebrook Heights of which Paul Luncheon Bernice Boyce had <a luncheon Tuesday. Sept. 26. for a few of her friends from Hales Corners, Wis. They were Mrs. Wayqe, Boyle, daughter-in-law, Mrs. Crowe, Mrs. Stevens, Mrs. Owens and Mrs. Deitz who resides in Lakeland Park. Irv and Dorothy Becker had a few couples visiting with them at their home on Saturday, Sept. 30. They were Mr. and Mrs G. Miniates from Chicago. Mr. and Mrs. R. A very fine orchestra will be on hand to play all types of musical selections to please everyone. The first meeting of the new school semester for St. John's Home and School association was held in the community club hall last Monday evening. Evening services will be held at 7:30. Confessions will be heard Thursday afternoon and evening and after the evening devotions on Friday and Saturday. The Blessed Virgin sodality will have its prayer hour from 2 to 3 while the lady Foresters will pray in a body from 3 to 4. Girl Scout News Troop 378 held their first meeting as a Girl Scout trpop last Tuesday in the public school. The girls elected new j officers, sang songs and dis-1 cussed various topics for fu-! ture meetings. Mrs. Marge Peterson, one of the troops committee women, treated the girls to cupcakes. The girls, thanked her by singing "Happy Birthday" to her. couples who are members of a club. The group enjoyed the weekend to the utmost. Hospital Patient Get well wishes are sent this week to Dorothy Hansen of Pistakee Bay, who recently spent several days at the McHenry hospital. The church service and benediction will begin at 7:30. The regular meeting \vill follow in the school hall. Rescue Squad Call Last Sunday evening the squad was called out to lend aid when two cars collided in front of the Gone Nett residence on Chapel Hill road. Three of the car occupants were taken to the McHenry hospital for treatment. FAMILY FORUM Dr. Bertha M. Shafer, M.tX, Twin Lakes. Wis., former assistant director of venereal disease education, Chicago Board of Health, and present chairman of American Social Hygiene committee, will speak on the topic, "Attitudes and Ideals in Family Living," at the Family Forum at Trinity Lutheran church, Harvard, on Oct. 10. * The meeting is open to the general public.
