Shay, director of civil defense for the McHenry area, who will speak on radiation and fall-out shelters. A film and question and answer session will follow. .. All members are urged to attend. Bridal Couple Ghosts, Goblins At Community Club The ghosts, goblins and spooks are going to have a party on Oct. 27 at 8 p.m. in the Ringwood church basement according to members erf the Ringwood Community club. There will be twenty-five :?ent fines for those who come without special costumes.^. A dozen doughnuts will admit the entire family. Refreshinents will be served and prizes awarded for the best costumes. Honor Denise Nardi At WSCS Meeting Denise Nardi, past president of the W.S.C.S. of the Community Methodist church, was honored at last week's meeting when she was presented with a going-away gift at the regular meeting of the organization. Mrs. Nardi, «vho has been a leader in the W.S.C.S. for a number of years, is leaving with her family to make her home in Connecticut. MARJORIE JUSTEN WED SATURDAY TO MR. DENNIS MAY In a pretty wedding which took place in St. Patrick's Catholic church last Saturday, Oct. 21, Miss Marjorie E. Justen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Justen of 4811 N. Pioneer road, McHenry, became the bride of Mr. Dennis F. May, son of Mrs. Irvin May of 3520 Washington street, McHenry. Rev. Fr. Edward C. Coakley officiated at the 10 o'clock nuptial rite. Two large bouquets of bright pink mums decorated the altar. The bride was charming in a floor length gown of rosepoint chantilly lace over satin, with a s i x - t i e r e d c h a p e l l e n g t h train. The dress was styled with demure neckline adorned with iridescent sequins and pearls, fitted bodice and long, pointed sleeves. Her silk illusion fingertip veil, edged in chantilly lace, fell from a crown of chan t i 11 y lace, trimmed in pearls and iridescent sequins. A single strand crystal necklace was worn around her neck. Mrs. Joyce Diedrich of McHenry, sister of the groom, acted as matron of honor and bridesmaids were Mrs. Joyce Frett of Crystal Lake, Miss Janis May of McHenry, another sister of the groom, Miss Lola Du Pree of Pistakee Highlands and Miss Carol London of Solon Mills. All were attired identically in dresses designed floor length of miramist taffeta, the skirts featuring three full tiers. Empire- col lard brief jackets were worn over draped and shirred strapless bodices and circled at the waistlines by wide, softly gathered cummerbunds,. They *"* wore crown hats with veils, and long gloves. The honor attendant wore her dress in shocking pink color, while the bridesmaids were in emerald green. All wore small rhinestone earrings. A1 Ghiel of Johnsburg, Ronald Justen and Dennis Justen of McHenry, George Darmonde of Pistakee Highlands and Clarence Adams, Jr., of Ringwood attended the groom. Mrs. Justen chose a dress of pure silk in turquoise organza, styled with flaring skirt and inserts of chantilly lace. Her small pillbox hat was of solid t u r q u o i s e i r i d e s c e n t s e q u i n s with full veil, and other accessories were turquoise and white. Mrs. May wore a dark green lace sheath dress over light green taffeta. Her accessories were in white except for a hat of dark green feathers. Twenty-eight guests gathered for luncheon at the Wing •n Fin clubhouse at noon, and later, 300 friends and relatives enjoyed an evening reception there at 6 o'clork. The couple will make their home at 6413 Wonder Lake drive, Wonder Lake. The bride graduated from McHenry high school in 1960 and is employed at the Oaks Manufacturing Co., in Crystal Lake. The groom is a 1958 graduate of the local high school. He served in the Marine corps for three years. PTA ENTERTAINS ROOM MOTHERS. TEACHERS AT TEA One hundred room mothers and sixty-five teachers in the M c H e n n ? C o m m u n i t y s c h o o l district were entertained by the P.T.A. yesterday in the high school cafeteria. Chairmen for the affair were Mrs. Lois Crouch and Mrs. Beverly Kuhlman. Cake, coffee and tea were served to ladies and men. Bill Andrews, president of the P.T.A., announced to the group that simultaneous meetings will be held in Valley View, Hilltop, and Edgebrook schools on Nov. 15 and Junior high and Landmark schools will be open on Nov. 16. Bouquets ol white chysanthemums decorated the main altar. , The pretty, d a r k-h aired bride chose a floor length dress of chantilly lace, its bodice fashioned with scalloped oval neckline with iridescent sequin trim, and long tapered sleeves. The bouffant skirt had alternating layers of pleated tulle and lace. She wore a crown of flowers and pearls with fingertip illusion veiling. Attending Miss Blake were Miss Carol Jean 'Freund of McHenry, a close friend, as maid of honor; Miss Janet Jung and Miss Margie Jung, cousins, and Mrs. Dorothy Wolowic of Druce Lake, sister of the bride, as bridesmaids. They wore dresses in peppermint green shade, styled with three-quarter sleeves and bell skirts. Their blusher veils fell from matching headpieces. The pretty flower giil, Diane Lawson, cousin of the groom, had a dress in the same color as the attendants, and a similar headpiece. Terrence Howard, brother of the groom, served as best man, and groomsmen were James and Thomas Blake, brothers of the bride, and Kenneth Homo, friend of the groom. Small David Lawson, cousin of the groom, was ring bearer. Mrs. Blake chose a light g r e e n , s a t i n - f i n i s h b r o c a d e dress with portrait neckline and pleated skirt. With it she wore a green feather hat and matching acces s o r i e s. Mrs. Howard was attired in a jacket dress of beige wool jersey, satin trimmed, moss green feather hat and matching ac-. cessories. A wfedding dinner was served at 12:30 o'clock to forty guests at the V.F.W. clubhouse, where 250 relatives and friends gathered later for a reception. Mrs. Stilling selected a wool sheath dress in .magenta shade, while the groom's mother was attired in a" sheath dress of blue. Breakfast was served at the Johnsburg Community club at 12:30 o'clock for sixty quests. After 5 o'clock, 500 friends and relatives gathered there for an evening reception. Following a honeymoon trip to Florida, the newlyweds will reside in McHenry. The bride is a 1958 graduate of the Richmond high school and is a bookkeeper at the McHenry State bank. Her husband graduated from McHenry high in 1956 and is a clerk for the Public Service in Mount Prospect. ST. PATRICK'S MOTHER'S CLUB HOLDS BAKE SALE The only autumn benefit sponsored by St. Patrick's Mothers' club is a baked goods sale to be held Saturday, Oct. 28, and Sunday, Oct. 29. Homemade treats will be sold Saturday between 4 and 5 p.m. and 7 and 8 p.m., and again Sunday morning after all Masses.
