WCOF, Juveniles Plan Xmas Parties Members of St. C 1 a r a's Court, No. 659, Women's Catholic Order of Foresters, will enjoy their adult Christmas party on Dec. 14 at 8 o'clock in St. Mary's school hall. Cope of 5220 W. Lake Shore Drive, Wonder Lake, became (he pretty bride of Mr. Austria Polis. son of the Edgar Polises of Todd Woods, Woodstock, in a lovely ceremony solemnized at Grace Lutheran church Saturday, Dec. 2. Rev. R. Hooker officiated at the pretty, early winter rite at 2:30 in the afternoon. The church altars were decorated with bouquets of pink and white flowers. Miss Cope was attractive in a white bridal gown and she carried a spray of white flowers with green streamers. Attending her was Virginia Tappan of Woodstock, who selected a purple satin dress with matching flowers. Oscar Polis of Todd Woods, Woodstock, served the groom as best man. Mrs. Cope wore a gray sheath jacket dress and pink corsage, while Mrs. Polis was attired in a blue print dress with white corsage. A reception followed at Grace Lutheran church hall, after which the couple left on a trip through the southeast. They will make their home at 371 W. Terra Cotta avenue, Crystal Lake. The bride and groom are both graduates of Woodstock high school and he studied at Milwaukee school of engineering. She is now employed as a secretary and he is a laboratory technician. Smith, former Northern Illinois University student, was among the nineteen students invited to an honor roll dinner at the school Tuesday night. Smith is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Smith, 30807 N. Spring Grove road, McHenry. He is a graduate of McHenry Community high school. The dinner is held each semester to honor students who have maintained a straight "A" average the preceding semester. This will be the second such honor for Smith. He earned "A's" in all courses for both the first and second semesters of the 1960-61 school year. Married in Zion Evangelical Lutheran church on Nov. 5 were Miss Jo Ann Koerper of Eastwood Manor and Lynn L. Ibsh of McHenry. AUDIENCE FILLS AUDITORIUM TO HEAR SINGERS The McHenry Choral club performed before the largest audiences in a number of years at the annual holiday program presented last Saturday and Sunday evenings in the high school auditorium. Their selected international theme was sung to almost capacity crowds both nights, presenting a varied program to enthusiastic audiences. Attractive stage settings designed by a club member, Norbert Mauch, enhanced the different scenes. Probably the oldest of the club's "fans" present was 92- year-old Charles Oberg of Crystal Lake, a close friend of one of the veteran singers, August Lakeberg. "Christmas Decorations" program by Mrs. Carl Ranta of Zion. She is talented and expert in fashioning beautiful arrangements for various types of homo decor. There were many simple and inexpensive wreaths for doors, table and buffet, arra ngements with fresh evergreens and flowers, some with candles or bells, for use in different ways. Mrs. Ranta toM of buying most of her materials in ten cent stores. Some items were purchased from flower shops. Thore were about eighty-five members and guests . present.
