Annie Stersch and daughter, Susan, came for dinner, later in the evening they were joined by Jerry and Ruth Condor. Helen Birmingham's mother, jrs. Margaret Deasy, spent istmas here with the family. She returned to the city Tuesday and Helen and the m two girls, Theresa and Margie, accompanied her. The Wilsons drove to Prospect Heights Christmas Day to visit with Georgiana's folks, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Biederer. Jim's folks, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd E. Wilson, came Saturday from Decatur, Iowa to spend a few days. Visiting with the Wiegmans Christmas Eve were her sister's 0 fahiily, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Schloman and_Suzy from Berwyn. staying overnight. Also there for the evening were Mr. and Mrs. George Wiegman from Fox Lake. Christmas Day the Dick Wiegman family went to the home of Louise's folks, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Noltin, in Berwyn. The Ed Vestgard family en- Joyed two turkey dinners over ^ the holidays. One with Mary's mother, Mrs. Lucille Corrigan, in Ingleside and the other with Ed's mother, Mrs. Mary Vestgard, in Fox Lake. The Richard R a d family went to the home of his parents, the George Rads, in Johnsburg where they joined a party of about twenty-five other guests. Santa Claus came to deliver the gifts. I' The Francis Pickett family was very pleased to have grandmother, Mary Jones from Waukegan to spend a few days with them. Sunday the Pickett family went to the home of Mr. and. Mrs. Harry Burke in Lake Zurich for a family get-together, Fifteen sat around the table to enjoy a wonderful turkey dinner. Il Jean Mersch's folks, Mr. and Mrs. John Timmons, came out Christmas Eve. The Kenneth Massheimer family spent Christmas day with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Massheimer and brother, Donald, in Lakemoor. In the evening they went to Thelma's folks, Mr. and Mrs. John Becker, in Lakemoor for a family gathering. The Lewis Kelloggs and the jp John Hayes f a m i l y s p e n t Christmas Day In Chicago in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Johnson. The Ed Radner family had a bousefull Christmas Eve. Enioying the turkey dinner and ta on the gift exchange were Grandmother and Grandfather Lightholder and Aunt Sally, Mr. and Mrs. Andersen, and - Sandy and Dallas Rigler. " Walter and Eleanor Kuck attended the Dundee VFW party with two other couples. They enjoyed the good food, noisemakers, and dancing; even trymg oat the Twist*. Monday they had company from Grayslake. They were Marge and Paul Heinshon and children. Wednesday, the twenty-eighth, they attended a party in Meadowdale in the home of Art and Marge Langlo. New Year's Eve A1 and Lois Bianchi joined Jack and Marilyn Fultz for steaks at midnight. Garry and Bonnie Beiderer had some of their neighbors in for New Year's Eve. They were Jim and Georgians. Wilson, Bob 'and Florence Tucker, and Don and Carolyn Roths. Helen and Tom Birmingham and guefts attended the American Legion party New Year's Eve. Out for the good time and staying overnight were Tom's brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Birmingham, and son, Jerry, from Morton Grove, Mr. and Mrs. Maroney from Chica-. go, and Mrs. Marie Armstrong, also from Chicago. Homer and Peggy Anderson and Bill and Elpha Phflippi went to a New Year's Eve iceskating party in McHenry. The John Coughlin family had a housefull during the Christmas holidays. John's mother, Mrs. Mary Coughlin, Pat's mother, Mrs. Garaty and brother, Ed, and sister and family, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Houlihan were there. Friday there was a get-together in the home of Jack and Marilyn Fultz. Attending were Mary and Dave Hadley, Carol and John Hayes, Lew and Pat Kellogg, Hannah and Bill Harner and Tom and Rita Simpson. El and Pat Borcovan attended the VFW New Year's party. Marie and Jade Dalton also had a whole lot of company Christmas Eve. Guests were Mr. and Mrs. Steve Stattman of Elmwood Park, Mr. and Mrs. Schwabe and great aunt, Mrs. Gert Stattman, of River Grove, Albert Stanton and Mrs. Price of LaGrange and Mrs. Mc- Namara of Oak Park. New Year's Eve Elaine and Jack Rogers and Delores and Frank Woolwins joined the Dal tons in their home. Richard and Lydia Fenner and family went into Chicago Tuesday where they visited and lunched with the Ed Fenner family and then visited and enjoyed supper with the Leonard Fenner family. The entire Kuck family was surprised to be visited by their very good friend, Julie, from Campbellsport, Wis. She came over to see the house and family and distribute Christmas gifts with Art and Bill Kuck. They enjoyed a nice supper and promised to meet again this summer in Wisconsin. Marge and Joe Halstead gave a New Year's party in their home. In on all the festivities were Bert and Rob Stoll, Vera and Stuart Bauer, Marge and Bill Halstead and Sandy and Chuck Speel. On Dec. 24 Don and Anne Meyer had open-house from 3-6 o'clock for the members of Don's family. About twentyfive people in all. They had a wonderful time and enjoyed a grab-bag exchange of gifts for the children and the couples. The Meyers attended a party in the home of Carol and Frank Hanson. The home was decorated with French posters and theme. They enjoyed a midnight buffet dinner featuring a French casserole. New Year's Day Mr. and Mi*s. Larry Petersen and family entertained D. V. and Margaret Petersen and children from Lake Zurich. New Year's Eve Harley and Charmaine Pohlman attended the party at the Moose lodge. New Year's day they had dinner in Chicago in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Kinsman. Before returning home they visited with Delores and Frank Woolwine. „ Marge and Harold Slove spent Christmas Eve with their son, Stuart Slove, and family and Christmas Day with daughter and family, Sharon and Wolfgang Berthold and son. Rita and Tom Simpson, John and Carol Hayes. Pat and Lew Kellogg, Hannah and Bill Harrier, Jack and Marilyn Fultz. and all the children got together for skating and sledding in Veteran's Acres Park in Crystal Lake. They all had a marvelous time. Walt and Peg Garrelts and children enjoyed a day in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Amann in McHenry. Thursday there was a gettogether in the home of Louise and Dick Wiegman. In on the fun were Tim and Lois McCormack. Bob and Rosemary New- Ion, Ed and Betty Radner, and Len and Winnie Hansen. Saturday night they all gathered again at the Hansen home they enjoyed the evening so well! three daughters spent several days visiting Amalee's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Fitzgerald, in Meadowdale, Ma They also visited relatives in the St. Louis area. Walt and Peggy Garrelts and family left Christmas Day to visit Peg's parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. T. Barnett, in Newport News, Va. A Note of Sympathy A sad note in all the holiday festivities came when Pat Cisewski received word that her 49-year-old mother, Mrs. Conrad Mason, suddenly and very unexpectedly passed away on Dec. 30 in Racine, Wis. Pat and Don left immediately to attend the funeral. We, her neighbors, wish to extend to the family our very sinceresl and deepest sympathy at this time of great sorrow. Blood Donors Russell Davis was in the hospital during the holidays and we all hope he will be able to finish up the job of getting well at home. The family would like to replace the five pints of blood given him while in the hospital. If any of you wish to give call them at 385-2415 for details. was Elpha Philippi, travelling prize went to Marilyn Salo and Pat Coughlin received the booby prize. Baby Deborah Ann Vestgard was baptised Dec. 17 in St. Bede's in Ingleside by Father Coffey. The godmother is Margie Corrigan of Fox Lake and the godfather is Tom Corrigan of Spring Grove. After the ceremony Ed and Mary had the grandparents and about twenty-five other relatives and friends in for a buffet dinner. Trips Saturday Emily and Jack Smithson and son went by plane to St. Louis to visit her parents, Mr. and Mi's. Fred Niebruegge. EV 5-0098 McHenry, I1L Patients Dolores Lawrence underwent surgery during the holidays in the American hospital in Chicago. She is coming along just fine but it will be awhile before she will be up and about again. Her mother-in-law, Mrs. Len Lawrence, Sr., also underwent surgery the same day at the same hospital with the same doctor. An Gx-Maaoritp It's always-nice to hear about our one-time neighbors. Presbyterian Church News Jan. 13 Conf i r m a t ion classes at 10 a.m. Jan. 16^-' Choir practice at 3 p.m. This is for children from the second grade through the sixth and will be under the leadership of Miss Ross. At 8 p.m. the regular adult choir will meet. Jan. 17 -- The Board of Deacons and the Session will meet. At 8 p.m. there will be a meeting of the joint Boards. Jan. 18 -- The monthly meeting of the Women's Society at 8 p.m. See Page 15 Brownies Wednesday, Jan. 3, the Brownies had their first 1962 meeting at the Faith church. They held an election of officers. Shirley Campbell became president, JoAnn Qual, treasurer, and Rosemary Rogers, scribe. Lynn Newlon will be in charge of the Brownie scrapbook. Each girl told of how they spent their vacation. They closed with a wishing circle. At the next meeting the girls will take up sewing so remember your knitting needles and yarn or embroidery work and thread. Saturday evening, Dec. 23, a dozen Brownies got together for an evening of carolling. Mrs. Durkin, Mrs. Newlon. Mrs. Mclntyre. and leader. Mrs. Garrelts, went wilh them. Afterward they all enjoyed hot chocolate and cookies in the Garrelts' home, » Birthday <Greetings Today Russell Davis is eighty Jan. 12- we have three birthdays. The party group was composed of seven couples from a club to which Ariene belongs. all the dogs running about the Manor. There is a fine for all dogs running loose so keep your {jets at home. A New Year's Eve party was held at the Mondl home. Besides Vera and Millie guests attending were George and Mary Mecko, Bob and Bern ice Froehlig, Joe and Jean Benoche, Jim and Birdie Deppmeier, Willard and Eola Hillman and Jim Walters. To climax a wonderful evening Jim Walters appeared as baby New Year 1962, complete with a big red bow. On New Year's day there was a gathering at the Mecko home. Guests included Bill and Irma Gunther, Jim and BirditkDeppmeier, Willard and Eola\Hiliman, and of course George^nd Mary Mecko. Another party was held at the Cisewski home. Enjoying the party were Mr. and Mrs. Lester and daughter, Joan, Rena Michalak a n d Bill and Mary Pritchard. Ironside American Legion h»H.
