Y., was a holiday guest of his mother, Mrs. John Bolger. Miss Marie Rapp of Peoria was a guest of Mrs. Betty Nielsen over the New Year's holiday. Kathy Palmer has returned to her studies at Mount St. Mary's, in St. Charles after spending the holidays with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Palmer. Robert J. Frisby and daughter, Lenore, we^e New Year's guests in the George Frisby home in Waukegan. Mr. and Mrs. William Walker of Waukegan were recent guests of Miss' Marion Mc- Omber. Miss Villa Smith of Cleveland, Ohio spent a few days during the holidays in the Robert Thompson home. Guests of Mrs. Laura Knaack on New Year's day were her daughter, Mrs. Eric Carlquist, and husband of Wood Dale; her granddaughter, Mrs. John Hendricks, husband and three daughters of San Diego, Calif and her grandson, Pfc. Robert Stock, of Frankfort, Germany and his wife of Crystal Lake. Among the out of town folks here to attend the wake or funeral of Mrs. Gertrude /Davis, last week were Mr. and^Mrs. Roy Johnson of Batavia, Mr. and Mrs. Nick Miller of Milwaukee and Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Whiting of Lake Geneva. New Year's day guests of Mrs. Adelaide Gausden were the Joseph Gausden family and Mr. and Mrs. Peter J. Schaefer. Members of the Catholic Daughters of America who enter lained ihc boys at Downc} Wednesday evening of last week were: Mesdames Bobby May, Irene Guffey, Elizabeth Thompson, Rose Staines, Anna Miller, Helen Heuser, Frances Widhelm, Evelyn Freund, Ann Rodenkirch and Misses® Laura Weber and Beriilla Freund. Visitors in the Albert Purvey home New Year's were Mr. and Mrs. William Purvey ot Huntley and Mrs. Robert Burleigh of Ingleside. Mr. arid Mrs. Howard Griffith and family returned Sunday from a three weeiks vacation spent with Mrs. Griffith's sister, Mrs. Mary Kauss, and family in Mexico City and Mr. Griffith's relatives in Fort Worth, Texas. Mrs. Agnes Wissell returned Sunday, from a visit in the home of her daughters, Mrs. Hilmer Heike in Mundelein ana Mrs. James Cornue in Hebron. Miss Amanda Behrens of Woodstock and Miss Lillian Behrens of LaGrange were New Year's visitors in the home of their sister, Mrs. Howard Lockwood. Guests last Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Laverne Lockwood and family of Lake, Geneva. Mrs. Lockwood and sons have just returned from a visit in the home of her sis* ter in Chula Vista, Calif. Navy man James McDaniels has been transferred from San Diego, Calif., to Chicago. His wife, the former Patricia Phalin, and sons plan to join him there later and make their' home. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Zoia and children of Milwaukee, Wis., spent the New Year's holidays with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Phalin. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Page have returned to their home in Cincinnati after a holiday visit with relatives here. Mrs. Jessie Runyard spent the weekend with her sister, Mrs. Fred Fowles.
