The Flints' basement will be used as a warming place for the skaters. The time is 8 p.m. There will be plenty of hot coffee and delicious food. Your committee beside the Flints are the Dick Morleys. !£ Meeting Re-Scheduled! The meeting of the W.S.C.S. of Mount Hope church has been set for Jan. 23 at the church. The meeting on Jan. 9 was postponed because of the cold weather. District president and promotion secretary pltis\pther district officers will be present. . 7 Brownie News • The Brownies will have their birthday party on Jan. 30 at the barn after school. Mothers are invited to attend. Teen Club The Teens had a skating and tobogganing party on Jan. 13 In Grystal Lake. Mrs. Harriette Wilson accompanied the Teens on their outing. A social ^ias been planned for Jan.. 22. Cub Scout News The Cub Scout ice skating party has been changed from Feb. 18 to the fourth. The Blue and Gold dinner will be held on Feb. 25. More details later. The basketball social will be held on Jan. 22 at the Johnsburg school beginning at 7:30. I would ljke to stress fact that no adult will be responsible for any child dropped off at school unattended unless arrangements with another adult have been made. Around The Highlands The Ron Jacksons spent las( Saturday night in Chicago visiting with Ron's folks. They had a late birthday celebration f_for Randy Jackson whose ^birthday was way back on Dec. 29. Meryl and Archie Fletcher entertained a few neighbors on Jan. 6. Happy birthday to Gloria Waldin who will be 19 years old on Jan. 24. The executive council of the association met at the home of Tom Warczak last Thursday evening. Don and Audrey Morin and family visited Don's Grandmother in Chicago last Saturday. Great grandma has been ill lately and will celebrate her eighty-fourth birthday on Jan. 31. Steffie and Karen Staudennoaier are both down with the chicken pox. & Dorothy Johnson is resting at home after surgery at the McHenry hospital. Floyd, Vi, Lee and Mary Lynn J o h n s o n e n j o y e d t h r e e weeks visiting in Florida. They were visiting wi<\h Vi's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Pechous. Lee returned to college and the rest of the John family returned to the cold snowy Highlands. Congratulations to Ric,Ky Ferris who was chosen from McHenry high to represent the F.F.A. at Normal State university. Many happy returns of the day to Betty and Bob Baker who were married 15 years on Jan. 11. Blanche Haefliger, all by herself, went downtown Chicago and saw a movie. The twelvth night tree burning ceremony was held despite I he snow and freezing temperature. Hot dogs and hot chocolate were served to the bravr souls who ventured out. Lynn Murray fell on the icy streets and broke her leg in a couple of places. She was taken to the McHenry hospital. That makes one broken arm and a broken leg this winter for the Murray family. Belated birthday wishes to Patti Thelen who was one year old on Jan. 5. lobby Conway will celebrate "his third birthday on Jan. if. Bob was all conference and all state honorable mention, which is quite an honor. Archie is the Boy Soout institutional representative. Meryl said that the only hobbies they have are watching football and basketball games. If you haven't already met the Fletcher family maybe this will help you get acquainted.
