On Jan. 14 Suzy also had her aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Hake and cousins, Roy and Dale, of Wauconda over for a birthday dinner and all the .trimmings. The birthday club met last Tuesday, Jan. 16, at Vicky Bottari's home. Vicky was hostess for the guest of honor, Millie Pintozzi. Mrs, Walker's birthday is actually on Thursday, Jan. 25. Joan and Bill presented Mrs. Walker with a beautiful pastel portrait of herself which she accepted with much pleasure. Bill'b sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. H. Essig. They traveled 167 miles to Bridgman, Mich, in all that miserable weather to be there for this wonderful celebration. They had a most enjoyable time and arrived home safe and sound. John and Gloria Flannigan attended an installation party in Cicero last Saturday evening. Attends Whiter Carnival The Home Builders pf the Methodist church had their annual winter carnival last Saturday, Jan. 20, at the Thomas home in McHenry. The Gerstads, George* Koches and Meurers attended the affair. There were about forty-five attending in all. All enjoyed skiing, tobogganing and skating. Afterwards they all enjoyed coffee and cake. Tripoli Party Ann Herzog was the hostess for a Tripoli party last Wednesday, Jan. 17, in honor of Mrs. Bull of Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. They enjoyed delicious high caloried desserts prepared by Ann. Visitors Tony and Carole Knor had overnight company on Saturday, Jan. 20. "I^ey were Tony's bfother, Ronnie Knor, and Carole's sister, Georgia Manning. Both are from Chicago. Visiting The Ron Buerers spent Sunday at the home of Barb's sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Ellis, in Lombard. Sunday, Jan. 21, the Herzogs attended a golden anniversary party in honor of Meet Your Neighbor Old timers of three years are Ann and Rich Wohnrade of 1715 North Avenue. The Wohnrades moved here from McHenry. They both are graduates of McHenry high school. Although they knew each other in high school they were never high school sweethearts. It was the summer after graduating they met on a tennis court and the "love bug" bit them. The ^Wohnrades have been married \nine wonderful years and Wve three handsome sons, Robby, age seven, who attends Valley View school, David, age four, and Scotty, age three. Rich works for a utility company and enjoys all sports, Ann enjoys dancing and puttering in her flower garden. Both are avid tennis fans and card players. They belong to the P.T.A. and are members of the Zion Lutheran church in McHenry. VOTERS' LEAGUE INVITES PUBLIC TO HEAR SPEAKER * "Britain and the Common Market" is the topic chosen by G. Colin Mayhew for the general meeting of the Crystal Lake League of Woman Voters, to be held Tuesday, Jan. 30, at 8 p.m. The meeting will be held in Fellowship hall of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, 485 Woodstock street, near Rt. 14 and across from North school. Mr. Mayhew arrived from London on July 12, 1960( to take up his appointment as deputy consui-gerieral at the British Consulate. Mr. Mayhew, who was born in 1922, served in the Indian Army during the war and saw service in Burma, India and Western Europe. Lllymoor DISCUSS GIFT SHOP AT MONTHLY AUXILIARY MEET Shirley Schuerr The Woman's auxiliary held its monthly meeting Monday, Jan. 15. The gift shop was the main topic of discussion. Most of the merchandise has been marked down in price. The merchandise will be on display on Wednesday evenings from 8 p.m. till ??, and at other doings held at the community house. Isabelle Karmel gave her report on the Christmas party held for the children. The ladies of the auxiliary would like to thank all the women that donated the lovely cookies for the children. A pot-luck supper is being planned for Saturday, Feb. 10, at the community house. More details to follow next week on the supper. Hostesses for the January meeting were Marylyn Lo- Presti,, Lil Neumann and Ann Novak. The monthly prize was won by Eunice Tobey. He attends Dundee Community high Get Well Wishes and a speedy recovery goes to Bud Hueckstaedt and Herman Crawley. Bud was operated on at the McHenry hospital. I am happy to report that Bud is now convalescing at home. Herman was operated on Tuesday and is coming along nicely.' I hope to report that Herman is home and doing better each day next week. On Monday morning he and the Other Eagle Scouts assembled will be guests of Governor Kerner for special ceremonies in honor of Boy Scout Week.
