Meet The Women's Society of Christian Service of Mounl Hope church met on Jan. 23 and got the organization off to a flying start. It was decided that the society will meet the fiecond Tuesday of each month. Our next meeting being on Feb. 13. A bake sale was planned for Feb. 24 to be held at a store in Fox Lake. Posters will be available with all the important data. A silent ' auction was held during refreshment time. Highest bidders were Mamie O'Neil, Barb Sisk and Mrs. George Van- JZevern. Starting Feb. 11 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. an intermediate M.Y. 1P* group Will be formed. This group includes sixth, seventh and eighth graders. The senior M.Y.F. will meet from 7:15 to 8:30 on Feb. 11. Until then they will meet at their usual time. There will be more information available in the weeks to come. Richie Orlowski, Bob O'Malley and Beverly Lewandowski were among the sponsors for the confirmation held on Jan. 28 at St. John's. The Murgatrovd family has been attending funerals in Chi cago. On Jan. 20 they attended the funeral of Diana's aunt and on Jan. 23 they attended the funeral of Charles' uncle and also served aS pallbearer. We hope this will be the last of their sorrows for a while. Dorothy Orlowski also attended the funeral of the uncle. Belated birthday wishes to Steve Petrov who was 6 on Jan. 26. He had a party with friends. Audrey and Don Morin spent last Saturday celebrating the birthdays of Audrey's sister, Jackie, and Jackie's husband, Larry. Everyone had to come dressed as little kids. Phyllis Phillips is home and in a wheel chair after her recent auto accident. She is coming along nicefy and Mr. Phillips has his hands full with both his wife and son in wheel chairs. Little Joan Malek had her tonsils removed on Jan. 20 at McHenry hospital. Joan is ore little girl who does not nerd to be prodded into going to the hospital. She loves it and had her little bag packed two weeks ahead of time eagerly waiting to go. Woman's Club The executive board of the Woman's club held a meeting in the home of Tina O'Malley on Jan. 24. Catherine Sielisch, Joan Zilligen and Diana Murgatroyd were in attendance. Don't forget to save all your cake, cereal and flour coupons for the Woman's club. Bring them to the meeting. MILK PROGRAM GOAL The major goal of a new program just launched is the encouragement of farmers in central and southern Illinois to produce more manufacturedgrade milk. A decline in manufactured- milk production on the part of dairy farmers in Illinois appears to have come about through upgrading when Grade A dairying gained in popularity. Dairy firms will be the principal agents in t.he new program but all interested groups will inform farmed of the advantages they might expect in becoming manufactured- milk producers.
