One for the Bird Watcher's Notebook The El Roy Johnson back yard at 7313 Mohawk Drive was the scene of a rare and wonderful event last' Thursday when a flock of Bohemian Waxwines. from 75 to 100 in number, set down to feed. Son Grog calied mother's attention to Ihe birds which were thnn identified as Bohemian rather than Cedar Waxwings. They were eating the berries on the bridal wreath and some wore on the bird feeder, eating bread crumbs. We note in our copy of the "Audubon Guides" a complete confirmation of the event. . . . the Bohemian Waxwing's "appearance in civilized areas is sporadic and unpredictable. Few breeding area* are known. but the flocks which invade the U. S. in winter are frequently enormous." It also says they can be brought to feeding shelves by raisins and cut pieces of other dried fruits.
