His daily life is just full of meetings, phone calls, work and more meetings. Charies is active in so many organizations that it makes one dizzy looking at the list. His neighbors in the Shores know him as the Chaplain of the M.S.C. and a member of the board of administration. Mr. Ramage, however, had the instincts of a busy man long before he moved to McHenry Shores. They spent almosl the entire winter there and were smiling innocently when we mentioned our record snowfall. They've bad weather in the 80's. Can you imagine, Terry said it only rained once during iheir stay and that was at night! They were gone six weeks rnd .spent four of those weeks at Hollywood By The Sea on the East coast of Florida. This was by the ocean and just think of all thai lovely warm water and golden hot sand. 'Doesn't it just make you drool? After four weeks on the East coast, they crossed over to the 'West coast on the Gulf of Mexico at Holmes Beach in the Anna Alal ia Islands. Their days were spent relaxing in the sun (sigh) and touring the area. In the evenings they enjoyed eating at different restaurants. Charles and Bernice MacCullum were also vacationing in Florida at this time and the Coateses visited with them on different occasions. They went up to St. Petersburg, took a trip through the Everglades, and saw the golf tournament in which all the big league ball players took part. The pro baseball players were in Florida as most of us know, for their spring training. Willis, himself, enjoyed a few golf games and some swimming during their stay. The Coateses included Mrs. MacCullum on one of their trips. Willis, Terry and Bernice took an all day trip to Naples which is on the southern most tip of Florida. We're glad they had such a nice time but we're also glad to see them home once again. Triple Birthday Fete The Reznicek family celebrated three birthdays on Sunday. March 18. Tremendous Turnout for "Music Man" The production of Music Man and tea which was given by the Woman's Society of McHenry Methodist church at the V.F.W. hall last week was a huge success. Over 400 women attended and were enchanted by Ann Varese's performance. McHenry Shores was well represented at this affair as ;.bout twenty women from the Shores attended. Louise Winters was in charge of the kitchen and Helen Smith and Irene Middlekauff helped pour the tea. It was an enjoyable afternoon for everyone concerned. PROFES^TOnSL OmECTORV EARL R. Elm St., McHenry, ID Around Town Leah Hogan and Irene Mid- (Hc-kauff have discovered a delightful eating place where you can also relax and have a game of bridge. It's in a nearby house which has been remodeled for restaurant use. The nicest thing is you can stay after you finish your meal and have a bridge game while relaxing in this very delightful at mosphere. Leah and Irene did just this on the afternoon of March 22. Another group of ladies also having discovered this same restaurant celebrated two of their birthdays there last Match 15. Virginia Verstege and Irene Mueller were the birthday girls (it was March 14 for both of them) and Mildred Snively and Helen Smith made up the foursome. After their luncheon they came back to Helen's house for their regular bridge game. Helen says it's sort of a "learning-to-playbridge- club". Gus and Helen Smith celebrated Gus's birthday (which was Friday, March 16) last Saturday by driving to Milwaukee, eating at a very famous restaurant there and staying overnight with friends. They returned home Sunday. Helen had her bridge foursome over last Thursday for another tournament game. This bridge tournament has been going in full swing since last Sept. 17 and will continue until May 5. It is being sponsored by the Methodist church. We are glad to rfeport that Raymond Pogor is home again from the hospital. He was released last Sunday. Birthdrty Celebrants We are very short on birthdays this week but we have a sneaking suspicion that our books are not quite up to date. If anyone is unintentionally left out give us a ring, will you? In this case, the people of the state, by the state's attorney of Will county, filed a petition in the Circuit court of Will county commanding the justices of the peace (respondents) to docket and hear cases which were actions in debt for the collection of delinquent personal property taxes from several named defendants. The trial court found that the justices have jurisdiction over the collection of delinquent personal property taxes involving amounts within their statutory jurisdictional limits. The court granted the petition and directed the justices to hear the cases. The justices appealed. In its decision, the Appellate court said that it has long been held that a delinquent personal property tax is a personal liability which can be collected in an action of debt. New-style, seven-figure telephone numbers are now being introduced gradually in McHenry. They're being given to new telephone customers and to present customers who move or whose service requires a change in their directory listing. But, on April 29, every telephone in McHenry will have a seven-figure number All of these numbers will be made up of the present two-letter prefix, "EV," converted to its numerical equivalent, "38" -- plus the last five figures of the present number. All McHenry phone numbers will look similar to this: 385-9981. ILLINOIS BELL It's easy to dial seven-figure numbers. You just dial seven figures (385-9981) instead of two letters and five figures. These seven-figure numbers are being introduced in McHenry and throughout the U.S., because population growth and new telephone services demand more usable number combinations than the present system allows. If yojli have any questions about sevenfigure dialing, please call your Service Representative at the telephone business office, 385-9981. TELEPHONE AND LOAN ASSOCIATION MARENGO, ILLINOIS 102 N.
