Now find the cutest, funniest, silliest or the purtiest baby picture you can find of yourself. Vi Abbink and Mary Mahon have started their tour of the subdivision to collect the pictures for the next Woman's Club meeting. / ^ The next meeting will be ^neld on Wednesday, April 11, at Mary Mahon's home, at 1509 West Birch street. If, by any chance, they are unable ^o contact you, please call Mary or Vi, or else bring your picture along with you. so no one is missed. Beside the baby contest there will be an Easter Hunt and be sure to bring along a jgtumip, a carrot and a sharp Mtnife. We are going to be instructed on how to make flowers out of these items. The best way to learn is to do it yourself. So don't forget to bring these vegetables with you. Linda Carlson Has Appendectomy It seems that March is the ^pnonth for Linda to be in thp news. Just last week we reported on her birthday - This week the news is not so happy. It seems Linda began feeling quite ill at School last Thursday so the teacher called Carol, her mother, at 2 o'clock to come and get her. Well, by 4:15 Linda was registered at Griswold Lake Athletic Club The Athletic Club met at the home of Con Kasparzyk on Wednesday, March 21. The program for the evening included two very interesting and exciting movies on fishing. The club is now planning a fishing tournament for their members during the week of April 21 to 28 in Griswold Lake. Their bowling teams are still doing good in the Tuesday night league. Team No. 1 is still in first place, team No. 2 is in fourth place and team No. 3 is in fifth place. Sympathy Our sincere sympathy is extended to Gloria Smith on the death of her dad, Mr. Wieland, of Chicago. He passed away on Thursday, March 29, of a heart attack. Twice Told Tales Happy Birthday Happy birthday to Nancy Forman who will ,be 5 years old on April 9. Neighborly Notes A big turkey dinner was served to Frank Rachwalski at the Mahon home in honor of his seventeenth birthday on March 25. Frank is Mary's brother and turkey is his favorite dish, so what else would she serve to a favorite brother. Mary's folks also came up on Sunday to celebrate, even tho he wasn't officially 17 until the next day, March 26. Jess and Jim Hawhee entertained their daughter and family last weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie Bryey and their sons, Jeffrey and Gregory, are from Oregon, 111. At a meeting of the board of education last Friday evening. it was concluded that the needs of an addition to the public school building were very urgent and that preparations should be made at once to provide for a building fund by voting for bonds at the coming school election. The board was unanimous in their opinion that the present congested condition of every room in the building was not conducive to effectual J work in school administration. ' F V. Cobb, the new bookkeeper at the Borden plant here, has moved his household goods to this village and with his family will occupy the flat over M. J. Walsh's store. Master Vernon Besley was surprised by his auntie. Mrs. W. A. The West McHenry post office has undergone a much needed improvement during the past week. New cabinets and shelving have been added which gives the postmaster a more suitable place to care for his books, post cards, envelopes and other necessities about the office. There are now several spots in these highways that are impassible for machines at this time. R. I. Overton and Math B. Laures, local taxi service men, have consolidated and since last week the two have been operating a taxi business under one head. The auction sale of second-hand cars at the Overton garage here last Saturday afternoon brought out a large crowd and as a consequence most of the machines were sold. The old livery barn in which the cars have been stored will be torn down and an addition to the Overton garage will be built thereon The local clothing firm of McGee and Conway has dissolved partnership and from now on E. R. McGee will be the sole owner. J. E. Conway,, retiring member, will now dqg vote all his time to a similar establishment which' he has conducted at Woodstock for a number of years.
