On April 29, all McHenry phones will have a sevenfigure number. These new numbers will be made up of the present two-letter prefiv "EV," converted to its numerical equivalent "38" -- plus the last five figures of the present number. It's easy to dial seven-figure numbers. You just dial) seven figures (385-998D instead of two letters and five figures. The new-style numbers are being introduced in McHenry because population growth and new telephone services demand more usable number combinations than the present letter-number system allows.
