Tickets will be available soon. The general meeting of the LPPOA.took place Sunday afternoon at the community house. The main event of business was the election of three new * members of the board of directors to serve their term of two years. They are Bill Idstein, John Flannigan aiid rfplady Hafer. The board memoers who r emain to serve the community another year are John Licastro, Bill Herzog attd Cecilia Oakford. The board of directors elect among themselves the specific officers the directors will hold. Also at this meeting a check for $1,000 was turned over to the board from the Women's club. * Women's Club The election of officers for Women's club took place last Thursday evening in the community house. Those chosen were President, Vickey Bottari; vice-president (ways and means), Gloiia Flannigan; second vice-president (refreshment and entertainment), Jo Rizzo; secretary, Sue Grizely; treasurer, Lyda Radisch. Hfere's hoping they will have a successful year as all those who have had in the past. Gratitude was expressed to the nominating commit tee for their time given, Chairman Vickey Bottari, Helen Strandquist, Donna Rode, Doris Bock and Delores Rogers. Welcome Party to be Held The "Welcome Committee* has plans all made for a welcome party to be held on Thursday, April 26, at 8 p.m. Anyone knowing any new neighbors or anyone who has never attended one of these parties is to contact Lyda Radisch at 385-2754. These parties are such fun and a good way to become acquainted with your neighbors. Remember May 20 That's the date for the Lakeland Park minstrel show. It will be held at the McHenry junior high school on Sunday, Mav 20, at 7. Doors open at 6:30. The Boy Scouts now have tickets and will be going from door to door selling them. Please be generous because this is for the betltrment of YOUR community. Tickets will also be sent to property owners in the May Newsletter. If you have already purchased tickets by this time, bring a friend, it's too good to miss. Watch this column for further news. All boys who will have reached the age of eight by April 15 and will not have reached their thirteenth year by August 1 Wire eligible to participate. AH boys who are coming into the league for the fii'st time are requested to be at the old ball field, which is located on Shore drive, just east of the new beach, on April 14 at 1 o'clock p.m. It is essential that all new boys be present so that the player's agent and his committee can evaluate arid assign the new members to existing •teams. Boys who played last year are not required to attend. Change of Date Dancing lessons at the community house this week only, will be on Thursday at the same hours instead of Friday. A grand time was had by all. Tripoly Parties Start Again Edna Hountras was the hostess for a Tripolcv party last Thursday. Enjoying an afternoon or fun were, Ivy Lezak, Louise McEnery, Ruth Hauptmann, Ann Herzog, Grace Mandziara and Grace's mother, Mrs. Viola Bull, from Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. Edna prepared a "Raggedy Ami" salad which was a conversational piece and was very rr.uch enjoyed by the girls. 'Charlie's peanuts" was played and a good time was had by all. Ken and Bernice Boyce were visited by their grandchildren, Scott, Melody and Sandra, who reside in Milwaukee They stayed for three days, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and had an enjoyable time shopping for their Easter outfits. Meet Your Neighbor Welcome' to Marion and James Duffy who reside at 4820 Willow Lane since November. The Duffys moved here from Chicago. They have a cute little two year old son, Danny. James attehded Kelvyn high school in Chicago and is employed by a firm in Chicago. He enjoys fishing and all sorts of sports. Marion attended Wells high school in Chicago and enjoys being a good house wife and mother and also a little of that favorite past time "coffee klotching". Visiting Carole Humann was able to visit with many of her old schoolmates Friday evening when a reunion party was held for Mary Thompson, an old school chum who just returned Xrom California. The party was held in Morton Grove. The rest of the weekend was spent painting her in-laws' house. New Reporter Barb Meurer will be our new reporter along with myself, Gloria Flannigan. Barb is taking Chris Foszcz place as Chris is having another addition s o m e t i m e i n N o v e m b e r . Thanks Chris for all the help and it was nice woi'king with you. COST OF NEW TAX The new tax approved by electors at the township meeting held last week will make possible construction of a new building on Rt. 31, to house township road equipment. It will' cost the taxpayer about .35 cents per $1,000 assessed valuation for a three-year period. Use The Classifieds On the Spur of the Moment Ann and Bill Herzog entertained last Sunday evening after the LPPOA meeting the Hountrases and the Hafers. Ann prepared a ham and all the trimmings and then they all sat down for a good game of cards. The girls once again trimmed the boys. Visitors Visiting the Meurers Sunday in honor of Ron's birthday were his folks, the William Meurers from Maywood, and her folks, the Millers from Lombard. A turkey dinner was enjoyed by all.
