Partying ® On S a t u r d a y a f t e r n o o n . March 31, Little Miss Cheryl Babarsky was guest of honor at a birthday party at the home of Grandma and Grandpa (Sophie and Franty Babarsky. The fifteen young guests included members of the Jesski, Smith, Voight, Von Oepen and Walczynski t a m i 1 i e s. Cheryl's aunt.^Arlene Babarsky, and hfer girl friend, Don- Wia Smith, helped with the geimes and serving of all the food, which consisted of everything from hot dogs to cake and ice cream. Mommy and ^Daddy (Sylvia and Frank, Jr.) were there to enjoy the day along with Grandma and (Grandpa. Cheryl received oodles of nice gifts^and ^had a wonderful day, as only a two j&e&r old can. Juvenile Foresters The regular monthly meeting of the Juvenile Girl Foresters will be held on Sunday, April 15, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at the Community club. It will begin with supper being served to the girls (for which they are to each bring a quarter) followed by the installation of Officers and initiation of new members. Brownies Reporter for Brownie Troop 150 was Doreen Patterson this week and she tells me that the officers for this week were Mary Jo Kennebeck as president; Regina Kern as secretary; and Mary Jane Lakow- ^ke as treasurer. In keeping ^vith their study of the V/orld Association of Girl Scouts and Girl Guides and in order to earn their World Pin, each girl had to bring something from a foreign land. They also enjoyed singing songs. Cookie hostesses were t>ebbie Obstfelder and Laura Smolinski. Mother helpers was Mrs. Betty Lakowske. ^ * " "" Girl Scours Troop 295 spent their meeting of April 3 taking care of unfinished business, working on their good grooming badge, discussing the mother-daughter tea to be held in May and learning a new game, which they noisily enjoyed. Refreshment hostess was Cathy Palmer and Mrs. Dehn and Mrs. Long were present to help the ftirls. Visiting Clif and Andrew Sabby of Indian Ridge Drive sppnt the recent weekend in Baraboo, Wis., visiting with son . and daughter-in-law, Gerauld and Bonnie Sabby, and their children. Since their return, spring housecleaning seems to be NO. 1 on the agenda. Ah, Spring! Beautiful Spring! Dropping In Laura and A1 Holtfodt (our new residents) had recent visitors from Chicago. Laura's sister and her husband, Val and Ben Weich came out to see the new home. As it turned out A1 was on a week's vacation and was in the process of painting, while Laura was still at her daughter's house' (yours truly). We all enjoyed the visr it, since it was their first time to see our baby Paul. SEHOA. Inc. "The bi-monthly meeting of the association was held at 8 p.m. at the Johnsburg public school. The number of people who bothered *to venture out in the inclement weather was iisappointing, especially after my little pep talk of last week, too/^pThose attending did enjoy the guest \ shaker, Thomas Bolger, of McHenry. His talk was most informative and Ihose who had not met him before were pleased to make his acquaintance. The beach committee made recommendations for work to be done. The ent e r t a i n m e n t c o m m i t t e e g a v e its report on the dance, which showed a nice little profit: and a check was turned over to the road committee. The road committee was next to report and they advised what had been ione and what will be done. This work can only go as far as the money reaches, so those who still owe dues, please get vour money into the treasurer, Bernadine Grist, as soon as possible. Mail Box Also at the meeting, President Jerry Olsen informed the people that in keeping with our request a mail deposit box will be placed at the Sunnyside grocery store for the convenience of all neighboring communities. The pick-up schedule will be the same as the deposit box in Johnsburg as far as I know. Coffee and cake were served following the meeting, the cakes being furnished by Carol Kennebeck, Helen Kobus and Millie Kropf. Let's Go Visiting This week our visit takes us to 1702 West Grandview Drive where we'll be meeting Mrs. Jqhanna Matuszak and her son and daughtepin-law, Edward and Pat, as well as her darling little grandchildren. Little Ed is sixteen months old and Debbie is a wee four months. As you can guess they keep Mom pretty busy. Johanna and Ed, as well as daughter, Joanne (who has since married and moved aw ay), moved here from Chicago in 1953. On January 30, 1960 Ed married Pat, who comes from Wonder Lake and they have since made their home with Johanna. Anniversary greetings 'his week go to Jeckie and Stan Smolinski, who will celebrate 11 years of wedded bliss on April 14. Marge and Herb Fischer celebrate their wedding anniversary on April 15. Lilymoor APPOINT NEW TREASURER TO FILL VACANCY Shirley Sclraerr The Woman's auxiliary held its monthly meeting Monday, April 2. At this meeting it was announced that Ru'h Young had resigned as treasurer due to serious illness in the family. I Lil Neumann was appointed to j take her place. j Also at this meeting a cleanup of the subdivision was discussed and planned. It will be held Saturday and Sunday May 5 and 6. A pot-luck dinner for the workers, will take place. Chairman of the dinner is Lil Neumann and her cochairman is Diane Fuhler.
