This is just the beginning. Herb will, be going down, for the time trials at Indianapolis. This is always such a big event and what a thrill to 'enow one of our our neighbors vill be there. I will be sure to keep you oosted on things roroing up as I receive them so we can all follow Herb in this most thrilling sports event Athletic Club Meeting The next meeting of the Griswold Lake Athletic club will be held on Wednesday, April 18, at the home of Con Kasprzyk. Visiting. We're visit,iijg this week at the home of Loretta and Gunnar Nelson who live at 1507 W. Cedar street. They moved" here from Chicago on Oct. 27, 1961, but Carthage, 111., is their hometown. The rest of the family includes R.icky Lee, aged 2M>, and Rodney Scott, 9 months old and two dogs. Gunnar is employed by a tobacco company and his numerous hohbies and interests include baseball, bowling, fishing, golf, nunting and hockey. Loretta loves bowling and sewing, and already belongs to the Woman's club. We hop© they will toe very happy here in our midst for many years to come. March\ 31, at about 10:30 in the evening a car drove down Birch • street and shot a BB gun at | each of the homes. Page Twenty-Three DELTA KAPPA GAMMA HOLDS '62 CONVENTION The annual convention of the state organization of Delta Kappa Gamma was held in St. Louis over the past weekend, and was attended by four teachers from the Crystal Lake schools who are members. Delta Kappa Gamma is an honor society for women teachers in all types of educational work. As a society, its efforts are extended toward better professional preparation, fairer recognition of women's work in the leaching profession, and more scholarships for women teachers who need aid in improving their professional preparat ion. Alpha Theta chapter of McHenry county has forty-four members, all teachers in the schools of the county.
