Tags For Easter Seals April 14 "«A tag day to benefit the Easter Seal society of McHenry county will be held m McHenry on Saturday, April according to Dick Taylor, W president of the county chapter, and Chuck Peterson of McHenry, local chairman. Proceeds will benefit a servio program which has grown tre mendously in the last twelve years in this area. During 1961, McHenry alone sent sixteen patients to the therapy centar, at Woodstock for special treatment which al- ^ so benefitted numerous others from throughout the county. Taking into account last year's budget of $27,000 and the fact that only about 50 per cent *6f -the patients are able to pay for treatment, it is readily --seen that contributions are greatly needed to carry on - this worthwhile work. Z When the program began in ^ 1950 with services available ™ jns one room, the great ma- - jority of patients were chil- ~ dren. However, the intervening Z years have proved that ther- - apy is helpful in afflictions of • the adult, and for this r?a- - son many are now receiving • treatment. In fact, in 1960 and ~ 1961 there were 208 adults who V received 2,415 treatments com- 4 pared to fifty-six children with ^ 325 treatments. I A summer speech clinic is • also widely used by county res- • idents. . In addition, numerous pieces of equipment are bor- • rowed throughout the year by " those in need. : McHENRY MAN 7 ^ IMJURED WHEW ^ CAR OVERTURNS • Kenneth S. Massheimer of " Fairview lane.
