A friend who recently acquired the title of "housewife" and would like to put a little glamour into her new status might find ihe problem almost solved by following the advice in this little verse. A pretty table, especially at breakfast, does mucfi toward starting the day right. Of course, the food must be palatable too. With a fifteen minute earlier rising she can achieve wonders. One thing to make a table more interesting and very attractive is a plate of hot home-baked muffins. Here is a simple recipe. Ingredients may be measured the day before. Tins may be buttered, dry ingredients measured, sifted and mixed the day before. These muffins are good at any meal but at breakfast they may be "starred". It would be wise to try this or any other new recipe once or twice when you have plenty of time. Muffins 2 cups flour (all purpose) 4 tsp. baking powder % tsp. salt 2 tbsp. sugar 1 cup milk 3 tbsp. melted butter 1 egg Mix and sift dry ingredients. Add milk, well-beaten egg and melted butter, (which have been stirred together) gradually to dry ingredients in bowl. Bake in well buttered muffin tins for 20 or 25 minutes in 350 degree oven. Fill tins only 2/3 fqll. Makes about 12 medium size muffins. CARD OF THANKS We would like to take this way of thanking the many relatives and friends who helped make our golden wedding day such a pleasant memory. We are especially grateful ^ for cards, gifts and other remembrances, and to those who called during the day. Mr. and Mrs. Math M.
