The Shamrocks beat Harvard 6-0. as Roger Benson threw strikes all day. Cooperation between the "city and the Shamrock players has resulted in a big improvement in the diamond. The players pul in a grass infield and should be ready to whip the dust storm problems of other years. The city hauled many yards of dirt to level the rolling oiit field. Next Sunday the Shamrocks travel to Richmond. We hope to be able to print a schedule for you this" week of the first round. Dave Klapperich, fresh from the Florida sunshine, looked real good at the plate with two doubles besides playing a great game at short. Gene Freund played his usual heads-up game, and Tom McAuliffe did an excellent job . behind the plate, besides hitting a triple in the eighth inning. For the show Bob has installed a two-inch dropped axle find will have parts of the engine chrome plated. He is having the car painted and will also have a modified interior. Leonard, a 160-pound senior, will concentrate on the halfmile run at the Prospect district this Saturday. Leonard ran a 1:59.2 half-mile last Saturday in finishing second at the strong Mooseheart Relays --his best time and well under the 2:01.7 he compiled a year ago to capture the McHenry County title. Leonard"*also runs the mile. He qualified for the state in this event last year and finished tenth. He won the event at Mooseheart Saturday, pacing himself well to win in 4:33.4. Coach Steve Zoll said he was boxed in during' the start of the 880-vgrd run, forcing him to run a 56-second first quarter to get in position in the 13- man field. He won the Palatine mile run a week earlier in 4:42. He was second in the., county last year.
