The usual picnickers' menu is being planned, hot dogs, pop and ice cream. And of course, baseball games, races, etc. Hardtime Party Members of theVfTC had a rip-roaring time a^ their party in St. Peter's hall on Saturday night. "Hard Time" was the theme and many of the costumes were definitely so. It was a welcome party into the club for this year's graduates. A weiner and marshmallow roast added to the fun. First Communion Congratulations to the children who received their first Holy Communion at SV Peter's church during the eight o'clock -mass on - Sunday. They were enrolled in the Scapular Monday morning and then were 'dismissed for the rest of the .day. Many parents of these •first communicants .entertained ,in their homes on Sunday to honor the occasion. Life Time Resident Dies The town was saddened by the news of the death on Wednesday morning of Mrs. William (Elizabeth) Engels, who .spent her entire life time in this community. She lived on a farm east of town with her -husband and family for many .years until they moved to town where she spent her remainpital for ail volunteers. Kathy , Fuhler and Wilma Avivard j were in attendance. A most | loyal and faithful volunteer for all hospital parties is Elizabeth Thompson, who is always on hand and her faithful attendance and cheerful attitude is appreciated. Reports were given by Legislative Chairman Genevieve Bradley, Americanism Chairman Viola Schuble and Press and Radio Chairman Pauline Pries. Poppy Chairman Florence Svoboda reported about Poppy Day being held May 24, 25 and 26, 1962 and is seeking as many helpers as possible. Civil Defense Chairman Gertrude Barbian asked for volunteers for classes in civil defense program for radiological service classes, which are held one night a week for a period of ten weeks. The next meeting of the civil defenseunit will be held June^at the ing years. Funeral services were held in St. Peter's church on Saturday morning. Members of the Christian Mothers sodality formed a guard of honor at the funeral. The deceased was a charter member of this organization. She was an active member of the church and was always one of the first willing to give a helping hand. Preceded in death by her husband, she leaves to mourn three daughters. Mrs. Alvina Frett of Woodstock, Mrs. Marcella Smith and Mrs. Geraldint Hiller of Johnsburg. She will also be greatly missed by her grandchildren.
