Bob Schroeder, a crafty little left hander, went the route for the Shamrocks and had a shut-r5ut going until the eighth inning when the Evergreens scored an unearned run. Bob haeL a shaky start as he walked/uie' first man and hit the second, but then settled down to retire the next 14 men in order. Dundee got their first hit with two out in the fifth. It looked good to see Rog Tinder back hitting that Ions,* ball for the Shamrocks again as he chipped in with two long triples out in the trees in right field. Roger's brother, Gary, looks like he will be doing a lot of hitting for this team. Herb Thurow is another long ball hitter. He blasted one of the longest halls ever hit in Dundee as it landed over the road in left center field, well over 400 feet. Jim Petersen played an.outstanding game at first base, and also chipped in with three hits and two RBI's. The whole outfield played grea„t ball, making 13 put-outs. This looks like a great team the Shamrocks have this year, some good young ballplayers and some older with a lot of experience. Manager Rog Ben- §,qh has created a lot of enthusiasm and team work. Next Silrtday is a crucial game as Johnsburg comes to McHenry. Both teams have unbeaten records and are tied for the lead in the McHenry County League. Shold be a great game and the Shamrocks are hoping to see a good croud out for the gs»me. McHenry Frcund, 3b Collins, If Klapperich, ss R. Tinder, rf Thurow, cf G. 'Louis Pasteur, a French schoolmaster, must be considered one of the greatest figures in the history of medicine. Although not a medical man, Pasteur's effect on medicine reached out in all directions, opening great new vistas of research and leading to establishment of the highly important field of bacteriology. Although a few probing minds had long contended that many illnesses were due to infections, it remained for Pasteur to supply definite evidence that the germ-theory of disease was aceurat-e.
