The results' will enable them to present Flo with a portable typewriter which will give her the opportunity to partake in the commercial classes offered at the Sanitorium once she is allowed out of bed; and knowing FferTm sure she'll never strike a key on that typewriter without thinking about how wonderful her friend^ and neighbors are. Stan's niece, Peggy "Zmudzki, was performing with her Girl Scout Troop but unfortunately they were the last to appear that Sunday night and we .could not stay that latfe what with the long drive home and school the next day. The day was hot but enjoyable- and we returned home tired but happy and cold. Gads! What a fast change in temperature. I still love cold weather. Jim Stevens is home from the hospital, but feeling mighty low yet. Don't worry, Jim, it takes a little while to get over surgery. Company The Holtfodts had unexpected company twice in the past, week. Now would be a good time to clean out all the eyesores and garbage heaps around, especially those who might be dumping their garbage in th empty lots. Don't forget, it must be out by six o'clock in the morning. Girl Scouts Troop 295 spent their weekly meeting brushing up on their performance to be'given at the Mother-Daughter tea. Since it was a lovely evening they did this out-of-doors and then played games to finish. Before their treat they sang the Johnny Appleseed grace and in closing their meeting they sang "Girl Scont Together". Besides leaders, Marge Barth and Lois Anderson, Catherine Dehn, G ay le Long and myself were, present. \ BURGERS-SHAKES-FRIES 19<> Open 7 Days per week - 6 a.m. -11 p.m. 2V2 Miles East of McHenry on Route 120 TOP-HONOR GIFTS for GRADUATES o^eiiyLt your favorite yrad • . . choose a yift from our wide Selection . . . for every taste, every poc hetbooh MANICURE SETS By REVLON Complete with Polish, Base. Well, just a couple more days and our children will be hnrr^e for summer vacation. I, myself, "am looking forward, to it, because I not only get a little more help from the older ones, but it makes my schedule so much easier. Of course, long about August, I can't wait for them to go back and neither can they. May I once again caution all you drivers that especially when school is out for the summer and all the children (and there are oodles of them) are running around playing outside, please drive slowly and carefully. The dust itself is a hindrance when you drive fast. We have speed limits. Please observe them, because if you drive any faster than that you cannot possibly stop in time to avoid hitting someone who would run out onto the road. Happy vacation to all you youngsters. Happy Occasions Birthday greetings today to Louie DeFrancisco, who is at that magical age of sixteen, when a few more doors of opportunity are opened. And on June 3 our birthday greeting to Vicki Jesski who also becomes Sweet Sixteen. On June 6 we extend birthday greetings to James Haninger.
