The young couple had tentatively planned a Hawaiian honeymoon and may be on the way west by. now. Upon their return, they will reside in Arizona where Mr. Nienstedt is employed. Details of the wedding appear on the society page of the Plaindealer. Pretty as a picture was the bride's tiny four year old sister, Susan Beth who almost "stole the show" as the flower girl. She wore a floor length gown of white silk organza with a wide sash of apricot 'velvet. Poppy's brother, Bob, served as a groosman. Father Bud / was mighty proud to escort his lovely daughter down/the aisle while mother Alije^'(Liz) suffered mortification. Seems that during the "hecktivity" preceding the wedding, she was locked out of Poppy's apartment and had to go to church "sans" Hat and Purse!, Isn't that the worst? No. 53 which covers the appropriations for the fiscal year April 1, 1962 to March 31, 1963 was passed unanimously by the board at the last meeting of the president and trustees on Monday, May 28. An ordinance prohibitirig parking on village streets^when heavy snow is expected will be published and become effective thereafter. This has no interest for readers now but it will have next winter. It is an aid for snowplowing, of course. The prevalence of dutch elm disease in the village was discussed and the consensus of opinion was that infected trees must go! If they are on village property, the village will destroy them and already have. If they are on residents' properties, each resident must foot the bill" for their evacuation. Here's hoping he didn't miss his only child's graduation from Junior High on Tuesday night. Will was receiving oxygen until Sunday night when his condition improved greatly. Feme Charter Pierce to make the Memorial Day address but Don Pareriti was fine as a master of ceremonies. He introduced Father Rennell of St. Mary's . church who gave the invocation. The Resounding Success Most spectacular of all rummake sales so far, was brought to a most successful conclusion with the "take" being listed at upwards of two hundred dollars. Mrs. Louise Hammerstein engineered this project and she can be exceptionally proud. She had a very fine group of women working with her which helped immeasurably. A terrific amount of merchandise was turned in by local folks and most of it went. The residue was bundled up and hauled away by the Salvation Army so nothing was wasted. The venture was sponsored by the Ladies of the Lake and these gals will meet again on Thursday, June 14. You are invited. During that time she underwent surgey but is convalescing in fine fashion now. EMERGENCY SERVICE Motorists running out of gasoline on Chicago's metropolitan expressway system will be charged $2.50, effective June 15, for emergency service by the expressway patrol, W. J. Payes, Jr., director of the Illinois Department of Public Works and Buildings, announced last week. An average of 200 motorists a month run out of gasoline on the expressway system, according to reports compiled by the Division of Highway's emergency traffic patrol system. Payes saidw the $2.50 charge was agreed upon by the state highway en- ^ gineers after a thorough study-' of the costs of the service to-- the state of Illinois. The sfale' will break even on the $2.50 charge when the cost of such services is included, he added.
