Dennis, was serving the nuptial Mass as an altar boy. Father Coakley officiated at the double ring ceremony. Details of the wedding appear on the society page of the Plaindealer. For her daughter's marriage, Helen Meyer was resplendent in a champagne colored two piece costume with bone accessories and a large pink hat which matched the color worn by the bride's attendants. The groom's mother chose beige with apricot accessories. Following the 11 a.m. ceremony, a breakfast for the bridal party was held at the American legion home which featured a champagne toast. The reception for invited guests began at 6 p.m. with a buffet dinner, folowed by dancing. The young couple left Monday for Denver, Colo. Mrs. Monge was laid to rest in Mount Olive cejnetery on Saturday. The Osterbys attended the services. Mrs. Monge had been visiting in the village only two weeks ago with her son who will be married in the fall. Our deepest sympathy to Elsie in her sorrow. Festival Committee Meets June 27 Mrs. Myra Murray, general chairman for the fun festival which will be held on July 21, has called a meeting of all chairmen and members of their committees for Wednesday, June 27, at 7:30 p.m. in the beachhouse. If there is anyone in the village who would like to work during this festival, Mrs. Murray would be most happy to have your name and you are cordially invited to attend this meeting also! Speedy Trip George Baumbeck and his son, Richard, made a quick trip to Arizona last week to visit with "number one son" (as the Chinese say it) Butch, who is stationed with the Air Force in that western state. The two of them returned home late Sunday night and were not available for any data but we'll collect it for next week's column. The young people chipped in together and presented the young miss with a transistor radio and a watch. You can bet Janet was thrilled. Reconstructive Surgery for Young: Lad Bruce Thacker entered McHenry hospital on Friday and had surgery on Saturday to repair damage suffered when he stuck the cord from his mother's vacuum cleaner in his mouth in 1957. At the time of the accident, he was only 4%. Emergency treat m e n t was given at the time, but in December of that year, his doctor scheduled him for the first reconstructive operation. His mouth and lip did not heal as well as was expected and this second bit of surgery should do the trick. He came home from the hospital on Monday, but his activities will be curtailed for quite some time. Wouldn't it be nice to remember him with a "sunshine shower" of cards? To ease the burden of caring for her other children, Barbara's mother and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Benesh, have taken Roger Thacker back to Worth, for a few weeks. Auto Mishaps Galore Dorothy Cunningham is thrilled with the news that her car can be repaired, instead of being junked', after the accident she was in on Saturday, June 9. She was the innocent victim in a collision involving two other cars on the Ring wood blacktop near Martin': road. She, herself, suffered pulled muscles, a cut and bruised knee, and other bruis es, and the family vehicle had the front end pretty well de molished. She was extremely happy that none of her four children was a passenger at the time. Mrs. Ruth Smith was in volved in a two car collision on Spring Road near Maple Hill Drive last Tuesday morning. Her lovely new white "Caddy" has a few smiles on the front fender which don't enhance the appearance! To add to this well planned weekend is the three ball games which will take place on Saturday and Sunday. Bob will find himself opposing * many of his friends. This game will start sharply at 2 o'clock. Later the same day, the little league will demonstrate their sport skills when they play an exhibitition game at 6 o'clock.
