M a r i n o , C h i c a g o ' s p i t c h e r , pitched five hit ball and was aided tiy an eleven hit attack from his team mates to take the victory 7-2. .Johnsburg's f i v e h i t s were s c a t t e r e d thrpugh five innings. Johnsburg scored their only two runs in the third inning when two runners reached base on errors and Sompel came through with a timely hit. The Firemen scored their 7 runs in the first, secpnd, third, ixth, seventh, and eighth getting four in the second, and two in both the first and eighth. Marino, the winning pitcher, struck out three and walked three. Bill DeCicco relieved in the eighth and finished. Lloyd Freund collected two hits to no avail as he could not be driven' in.
