Members Make Downey Visit Members of the Catholic Daughters of America made their monthly visit to Downey hospital last Wednesday evening, where cards and other games were played with the veterans. Hold Rummage Sale At Engdahl Barn The Community Methodist church is holding its annual rummage sale on Friday and Saturday, Aug. 17 and 18, at Engdahl's barn. Heuvelman, son of Mr, and Mrs. Bertram Heuvelman of Springcroft Farms, Richmond, in a beautiful wedding ceremony solemnized at Christ the King church on Saturday, Aug. 4. Rev. Fr. James Vanderpool officiated at the noon nuptial rite. Mrs. Carl Weber was organist for the service, and. accompanied Adele Froehlich and Mary Ann Wegener in appropriate nuptial music. Miss Lundborg, given in marriage by her brother, Daniel Lundborg, walked dov^n the aisle in a gown fashioned of pure silk organza, with fitted basque bodice featuring an oval neckline and Dior length sleeves. The bouffant, waltz length skirt featured a trace of hand embroidery down the sides. Her headpiece was a hand-made pearl crown of orange blossoms and held in place a bouffant butterfly veil of pure silk imported English illusion. Attending her were Joan Young and Marlene Lundborg, both of McHenry. They wore dresses of sun gold satin, sheath style, with Dior sleeves and oval necklines, and featuring removable peplum effect over-skirts. Their hats were of matching satin, topped with net. Edward Ettswold of Park Ridge and Joseph Lundborg of Wonder Lake, brother of the bride, were the best man and groomsman, respectively. Mrs. Lundborg wore a pink chiffon dress with flared skirt, and pink and red petal hat. The groom's mother selected a blue chiffon dress with embroidered bodice, and matching pillbox hat. A reception followed the ceremony at the bride's home for 100 guests, after which the newlyweds left for Florida and the Florida Keys. They ' wili make their home in Richmond. A petite and lovely blonde bride was Barbara Lee Kwiatkowski as she came down the aisle of St. John's Catholic church on the arm of her stepfather to meet her waiting bridegroom, Mr. Kenneth Brennan of Ringwood. Father Wagner performed the double ring ceremony on Saturday at 10:00 ajti. in front of the altar banked with gladioli of white and pastel colors. Music was furnished by the church choir. Miss Kwiatkowski is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Austin of Genoa City, Wis., while the groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Charles Brennan of Ringwood. The diminutive bride was radiant in a floor length gown of white silk organza and chantilly lace over white satin. The fitted lace bodice featured a sweetheart neckline and long tapered sleeves and the hoop skirt of white silk organza was adorned with appliques of white satin on the sides. Her fingertip veil of silk illusion was held in place with a tiny white pillbox cap of white lace. The bridal bouquet was fashioned of white roses and carnations. She also wore a single strand of pearls, a gift from her bridegroom. Miss Rita Kwiatkowski served her sister as maid of honor. The bridesmaids were Pat Lehaman of Nippersink, Shirley Mack of Chicago and Georgia Mary Saunders of Sycamore. The young ladies were gowned in white cotton lace over pastel taffeta, one in maize, " one in green, another in pink, and one in orchid. Their high heeled pumps were dyed to match the underskirts. The skirts were bell shaped and trimmed with tiny bows to match the various colors. On their heads, they wore tiny crowns of sequins and seed pearls with blusher veils. Their bouquets were pastel carnations. Janet Mack, the flower girl, wore a street length dress of white lace over taffeta, banded at the waist and around the full skirt with white satin accented with bows of turquoise satin. Jerry Pretzman of Richmond was the best man. Groomsmen were Jack Leonard of Lake Geneva, Henry Skogstad of Antioch and Jim K w i a t k o w s k i o f N i p p e r s i n k . Math Scheid, Jr., and Billy Brennan served as junior ushers and Bobby Brennan was the ringbearer. For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. Austin chose a green linen sheath with a matching jacket, beige accessories, and wore a corsage of white carnations. Mrs. Brennan was gowned in a street length, pink silk sheath, tunic style, which accentuated her brunette coloring. Her accessories were white, and she, too, wore a corsage of white carnations. The groom's grandmother, Mrs. Nellie Hepburn of Ringwood, recovered from a heart attack in time to attend the nuptial. She wore a gold suit with black accessories and a white carnation corsage. About 200 guests sat down to a rost beef dinner, served family style, at the American Legion home in Genoa City. The hall was adorned with streamers in pastel colors and featured two large white wedding bells. The groom's cousin, Miss Sandi Brennan, passed the guest register, and Mrs. Helen Winn cut the threetiered wedding cake. The young couple left for a short honeymoon in the South, and for her going away costume the new Mrs. Brennan selected a blue linen suit with white accessories. Upon their return, they will reside in an apartment in New Munster, Wis., where the bridegroom is employed. The bride attended Badger high school in Lake Geneva and plans to enroll in a school of beauty culture. In the first service, Miss Mary Lou Miller exchanged nuptial vows with Mr. Richard A. Cope, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Cope of Wonder Lake Immediately afterward, her twin, sister, Suzanne, became the ^fbride of Mr. Robert L. Weber, Jr., son of the senior Webers of 611 N. Center street, McHenry. Rev. Fr. James Vanderpool officiated at the exchange of vows and the nuptial Mass that followed. Sister Andreella of St. Mary's parish in McHenry was organist and accompanied Mrs. Lester Smith, aunt of the brides, in singing the Mass and three solos, "On This Day O Beautiful Mother," "Ave Maria" and "Panis Angelicus." Bouquets of pink and white flowers decorated the altar. Mary Lou, given in, marriage by her father, was pretty in a dress featuring a lace bodice over satin, trimmed at the neckline with pearls, and a full skirt of silk organza over white satin. She was attended by Miss Sharon LaGreea of Wonder Lake and Miss Anita Beckenbaugh of McHenry, close friends. They wore ice blue dresses, veiled headpieces and matching shoes: The proud father then accompanied his other daughter, Suzanne, down the aisle. She was charming in a white floor length gown featuring a chapel train. It was highlighted with Irish lace at the waist, scoop neckline, and two roses forming a bustle in back. Her attendants were Lynn Wilkinson of LaGrange Park and Frances Mayfield of McHenry. They were attired similarly to the other attendants. The two pretty flower girls were nieces of the brides, Laura and Linda Smith, who preceded the Misses Miller up the aisle. Attending Mr. Cope were Jay Cope of Wonder Lake and Thomas Miller, brother of the bride. Mr. Weber was attended by James Jackson of Woodstock as best man and Ronald Vacula of Wonder Lake as groomsman. Ushers were Terry Miller and Donald Wattles. Mrs. Miller selected for her daughters' wedding a navy blue dress with which she wore white accessories. Mrs. Cope wore a silk beige dress with white accessories, while Mrs. Weber was attired in a blue dress and matching accessories. Following the service, 250 guests gathered at the McHenry Country club for dinner. Mr. and Mrs. Cope left later on a trip to Colorado, while Mr. and Mrs. Weber started on a honeymoon trip to Chicago for ten days. The Copes will reside in Wonder Lake and the Webers at 930 Burwick, Waukegan. Mrs. Cope is a graduate of McHenry high school and attended Northern Illinois university. She is employed in the bookkeeping department of the Oaks Manufacturing Co. in Crystal Lake. The groom is a high school graduate and is engaged in construction work. Mrs. Weber graduated from McHenry high school, and like her sister, attended Northern Illinois university. She has been employed at the McHenry State bank. The groom is a graduate of McHenry high school, spent two years in the service of his country and is now with the credit department of the Sears store in Waukegan. ANNA GILLIGAN VISITS IRELAND AFTER 30 YEARS Mrs. Anna Mae Gillfean of Riverdale subdivision will return this week from a threeweek vacation trip to England and Ireland. A native of County Mayo, Ireland, she is making a visit there for the first time in thirty years. Leaving O'Hare airport on July 23 for New York city, she then took a jet to Shannon, Ireland, and on to Dublin, where more than 100 members of her family and friends were present to meet her. A number of bon-voyage parties were given in her honor by co-workers at a Palatine company before she left, and she received many , gifts and well wishes. Other parties were given in McHenry and Crystal Lake, as well as several welcoming gatherings that awaited her in London and Dublin on her arrival. The oldest of ten children, Mrs. Gilligan's trip prompted a family reunion. Included were eight nuns from Manchester, England, and several priests from Dublin. While in Ireland, Mrs. Gilligan hopes to do much sight-seeing and, of course, kiss the Blarney Stone.
