These boys Only have this dance once a year and ask your support by buying a ticket. This ticket in turn admits you to the dance where you will have a good time. Where can you do better than that? Dogs and More Dogs Several times in the past items have appeared in this column concerning dogs running loose. Not only are they pests in the gardens and on the lawns but they can be a menace. A phoneVall last week from a neighbor^ really convinced me of this^ A large black dog has been \hitting her chickens twice a day. So far he has made off with quite a number. If your dog answers this description please keep him tied up. Maybe next time it will be a child he attacks. Please dog-owners keep your dogs at home! This meeting was called to discuss the purchase of a plot of land as a community center. Following a long period of questions and discussion several of the men present volunteered to serve on a committee to investigate the answers to many unanswered questions. This committee will come back with a report at the regularly scheduled meeting in September. The recent purchase of a tractor with a mowing attachment was also brought up with praise for the men who have donated time to cut down the weeds. It surely improves the appearance of the subdivision and certainly improves the view for many homes. The grading of our roads was also brought up with a report on the cost. This is a very expensive operation. For those who are unaware of the many > people it takes, all of whom volunteer their time and effort, to care for all these things which have to be done, why not come out to the next association meeting just to see what's being done by this group of hard workers, working so we can all improve and enjoy our homes. Griswold Lake A'hletic Club Cook-Out Those boys from the athletic club did it again -- sure did, they took their wives out for a good time. This time they had a cook-out at the beach at Shady Shores and they all danced afterwards. Approximately thirty people enjoyed the evening of dining, dancing nyside Estates and the Jacob Thiels of Johnsburg. Congratulations to all! and fun. These boys sure know how to stay on the good side/ of their wives. Weekend Guests Alice and Wayne Malzahn were pleased to have as weekend guests, Mr. and Mrs. H. Chamberlain of Largo, Fla. Mrs. Chamberlain is Alice's mom, and they stopped here to visit from Friday, Aug. 17, to Tuesday, Aug. 21 on their way home from a trip to the west coast. Happy Birthday Many happy returns to Don Teuber whose birthday is Aug. 30. Belated, but most sincere birthday greetings to Mickey Walters who was 23 on Aug. 12 and Ray Baird on Aug. 17.
