Tatro, son of Mr. and Mrs. Orville, Tal.ro of Round Lake P-ark. • The wedding will take place at St. Paul's Lutheran church in Round Lake Park on Oct. 27. Gathering Honors Seventieth Birthday Mr. G. Krapf of Golf View road was guest of honor at a gathering held at the Otto Muellen home on Crescent avenue last week, the occasion being his seventieth birthday anniversary. A highlight of the day was the unexpected visit of Mr. Krapf's nephew, Edwin Krapf, and family who arrived enroute to their home in Ssn Diego, Calif., from a trip to Europe. A little German band, hurriedly made up of local talent, furnished music for the memorable occasion. Delicious refreshments were served during the afternoon and evening, all contributing to a most pleasant anniversary celebration. Mr. Krapf was presented with many gifts. Honor Ann Frisby On 80th Birthday Miss Ann Frisby. who 'observed her eightieth birthday anniversary on Tuesday, Sept. 4, w&s dinner guest of nieces and nephews last Sunday. Accompanied by Donald Givens of McHenry; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Lawrence of - Chicago and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Phalin of Waukegan, sraP enjoyed dinner at Gurnee and later visited in the Phalin home. On Wednesday, she was dinner guest of four nieces, Mrs. Arleen Johns, Mrs. Jean West, Mrs. Audrey Fredricksen and Mrs. Mary Lou Haverkamp. Others attending were from Lombard, Itasca, Elgin, Dundee and McHenry. Dinner Honors Larry Thomas The women of the Community Methodist church will cook and serve a tasty dinner to which the public is invited on Wednesday, Sept. 19, with serving to start at 5:30 and continue to 7:30 p.m. The dinner will honor Larry Thomas, who has been ill and confined to bed for several months. Edwin Wittrock is chairman of the entertainment committee and promises a program which will be of interest to everyone. Dinner Honors Kevin M. Shay Three-year-old Kevin Michael Shay was guest of honor at a birthday dinner held at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Shay, last Monday. The actual birth date was Sept. 2. Present to enjoy the day were Kevin's godparents, Mrs. James Delaney of Oak Park and Ronald Bykowski of McHenry; also his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Mitchell Bykowski and Mrs. Harry Shay, the latter of Johnsburg, as well as other family members. Downey of Pakenham Ontario, Canada, were married by Rev. J. Robert Zinn. Miss Gunderson is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred H. Gunderson of Richmond and Mr. Downey is the son of Mr.- and Mrs. T. Reginald Downey of Pakenham Ontario, Canada. The bride designed, styled and made her own gown, which was a princess dress of white chiffon over taffeta, with bateau neckline, long sleeves and chapel train. Maid, of honor was Miss Nancy Gunderson, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Miss Sue Spuehr of Wonder Lake and Mrs. Kathleen Inedden, sister of the groom, of Bellevi^e; Ontario, Canada. Their dresses were ballerina length princess style gowns with scalloped neckline to match the bride's gown in frosty copen blue taffeta brocaded with silver and royal blue flowers and leaves. Gaylan Josephson of Ft. William, Ontario, a classmate ot the groom, was best man. Groomsmen were Dave Inedden brother-in-law of the groom, of Belleville, Ontario, and Terry Gunderson, brother of tne bride. A reception for 200 guests was held in the church parlors after the ceremony. The buffet table was decorated with white glads, blue delphinium and stock. The groom is a student at Ontario Veterinary college, Guelph, Ontario, and will receive his doctor's degree in veterinary medicine in May, 1963. The bride will enter Guelph Collegiate-Vocati o n a 1 institute in September for a course in liberal arts. After a honeymoon through northern Wisconsin and eastern Ontario, the Downeys will be at home at 16 Rosewood Avenue, Guelph, Ontario Canada. WOMAN'S CLUB TO SEE SPECIAL PROGRAM SEPT. 12 Ann Varese and her daughter, Leora, will be featured in "The Miracle Worker" the story of Helen Keller, the blind, deaf and dumb girl, and her teacher, Annie Sullivan, in a program to be presented at Shady Lane, Marengo, on Sept. 12, for the McHenry Woman's club, which opens its season that day. The entire membership of the club is expected to attend this opening" meeting, and an invitation is also extended to non-members who wish to attend. Mrs. Clyde Bailey should be called for reservations. Miss FeJicetti Wed Saturday Miss Rosemary Felicetti, daughter of Mr. and Mrs, Thomas Felicetti of 1717 W. Oak Leaf drive, McHenry, became the bride of Mr. Howard D. Mortimer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard F. Mortimer of 100 State street, Crystal Lake, in a lovely wedding solemnized in St. John the Baptist church, Johnsburg, on Saturday, Sept. 1, at 10 o'clock in the morning Rev. Fr. Joseph Blitsch officiated at the nuptial service in a church decorated with bouquets of white glads on the altar. Miss Felicetti was charming in a gown featuring a chantilly lace bodice and skirt of silk. Her crown of pearls and crystals held a fingertip veil. Attending her were Patricia Szabelski of Chicago as maid of honor and Janice Schueler of Lakemoor as bridesmaid. They were attired-inW>wns of turquoise sating with\ small matching hats featuring \ small bows. V... Thomas Mortimer of Crystal Lake served as best man, and Louis Felicetti of McHenry was groomsman. Mrs. Felicetti chose a beige dress of linen, with which she wore matching accessories. The groom's mother wore a toast-colored chiffon dress and matching accessories. A reception at the V.F.W. clubhouse was held later in the day, attended by 125 guests. The bride is a 1961 graduate of McHenry high school and attends McHenry Beauty school. The groom received, his education in the McHenry high school also and is now stationed with the Army in Oklahoma, where they will reside. Fox Lake Club Gives Fiesta Garden Party The Fox Lake Garden club will present its annual flower show, "Fiesta Garden Party", Wednesday, Sept. 12, at the American Legion home on Rt. 12. Exhibitors may bring entries in between 8:30 and 10 a.m. Everyone is eligible to enter. The show is not limited to Garden club members. The show and luncheon will start at 12:30. Tickets may be obtained at the door. Further, information may be had by contacting Mrs. P. Kabot, flower show chairman, or Mrs. Sam Smith, club president. CHICAGO WEDDING Mrs. Lillian Olson of Island Lake was recently bridesmaid for her twin sister, Pansy Elliott, of Chicago, who was married in Chicago Methodist church. Their brother, Rev. Edgar Ayre of Hesperia, Mich., officiated at the marriage of Miss Elliott and Sam Houston of Rockford. The bride was given in marriage by Mrs. Lillian Olson's son, Richard. MOSS The Ring woo d Methodist church was the setting for a beautiful, late summer wedding cm Saturday, Sept. 1, when Miss Karen Linda Thompson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon A. Thompson of McHenry, became the bride of Mr. Geoffrey S. Moss, son: of Mr. and Mrs. John H. Moss of 411 Mineral Springs, McHenry. Rev. Brennehan officiated at the 11 o'clock ceremony for which Neil Sabel, friend of the groom, offered| two appropriate vocal selections. Altar bouquets included white mums and glads. Pretty Miss Thompson walked down the aisle, charming in a gown of silk p?au de soie, styled with scoop neckline accented by seed pearls appliqued on the peau d'ange lace bodice. The long tapered sleeves were also in peau d'ange lace. A very full .skirt featured lace which extended the full length of the chapel train. The skirt itself was adorned with appliques of lace and seed pearls. An imported silk ' illusion, three-tier fingertip veil was held in place by a lace crown with seed pearl and aurora borealis crystal trim. Acting as maid of .honor was Kathy Thompson, sister of the bride, and bridesmaids were Beverly Spohr of Pistakee Bay, a friend, and Kandy Thompson of McHenry, sister of the bride. They wore coral nylon sheer dresses over taffeta, with fitted bodices, scoop necklines, elbow lehgth sleeves and belltype skirts. Their picture hats were trimmed in matching fabric of the same color and they carried colonial bouquets of tropicana roses matching their dresses and delicate white pompoms and white streamers. Cindy Lou Kujawa of Chicago, niece of the groom, wat> the lovely little flower girl. Dean Hargis of McHenry, friend, of the groom, served as best man and groomsmen were John Moss and Ray Moss, brothers of the groom. Mrs. Thompson selected a pastel blue, linen sheath for her daughter's wedding, with which she wore matching shoes and white accessories. Mrs. Moss wore an avacado green, silk sheath with beige accessories. A reception was held following the ceremony at the Legion BARBARA WOLF WED SATLJRDAT TO JAMBS McGEJE Miss Barbara Wolf, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James"Wolf of 2604 W. Lincoln road, "McHenry, became the bride of Mr. James McGee, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry McGee of 1808 N. Mannheim, DesPlaines, in a pretty wedding which took place last Saturday, Sept. 1, at 11:30 o'clock in St. Mary's Catholic church, McHenry. The bride was radiant in a bridal gown featuring a hoop skirt, long, tapered sleeves and round neckline. Her bouffant veil was held in place by a pearl tiara. She carried white roses. Attending Miss Wolf were Miss Martha Thennes, a close friend, as maid of honor, Miss Judy Murray and Miss Isabel Wolf, a sister, as bridesmaids. They were attired in sheath dresses in an apricot shade, with over-skirts, round necklines and three-quarter length sleeves. Headpieces of bows in the same material as their dresses held in place blusher veils. Their flowers were white and apricot carnations. Little Debbie Wolf, sister of the bride, was the pretty flower girl, wearing a long, white dress, with bustle back, and apricot-colored rose hat and veil. She carried roses in white and apricot hue. Gordon Iverson of Rolling Meadows served his brotherin- law as best man and Bill home, attended by 100 guests, after which the couple left on a trip into northern Wisconsin and Minnesota. The new Mrs. Moss is a 1960 graduate of the local high school and has attended Illinois State for two years. The groom graduated from the local high school in 1957, served two years in the Air Force and has attended Northern Illinois university for two years. A reception was held following the ceremony at the Starlite restaurant, after which the couple left on a trip to New York. Upon their return, they will reside in Bensenville. The bride is a 1962 graduate of McHenry high school and has been employed at the family laundromat. The groom, who received his education at Palatine high school, is employed in DesPlaines. RUMMAGE SA1E On Saturday, Sept. 8, the Viscounts Parents association will hold a rummage sale in the A-OK Instrument repair shop at 913 Front street, McHenry, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. All proceeds will go toward the Viscounts' trip to Las Vegas.
