The hosts and hostesses will be Irv and Cris Sorenson, Dud and Dee Gregg and Ed and Virginia Thoren. By now all persons in the club have been contacted personally by a member of the committee. Association's New Officers for '6"2-'63 At the last meeting of the association the new officers took over their duties for the coming year. They are president, Tom Warczak; vice-president. Milt Crosdale. Sr.: treasurer, Tom Mason; financial secretary, Marie Schlick; secretary, Lee Conway; sergeantat- arms, Bill Lange; trustees. John Maddock, Betty Crosdale. Leo Orlowski, Ted Wroblewski, DeWitt Rapp and Jim Malek. It was also voted and passed that the meetines be held every month instead of every other month as was the practice this past year. Plans are also being made for a Halloween party on Oct. 27. Her Name Is Kathy Ann and she weighed 4 lbs., 10 ozs. when she was bom to proud parents. Gene and LaVerne Sarver. La Verne is home recuperating while baby, Kathy, remains in the hospital until she reaches 5 lbs., 2 ozs., then she will be able to come home. Pet Killed Sandy, the pet dog of the Rogde family, was struck and killed by a car on Rt. 12 last Saturday. Sandy just had a litter of oups and leaves three little babies. attended a program in Marengo sponsored by the McHenry Women's club. Janice Janquart's folks, Mr. and Mrs. Schwartz, from Milwaukee, stayed over the weekend with Jan and family. Belated happy birthday to Jimmy Mclnerney, who was 13 on Sept. 11. We hope by the time this column reaches your living room Mrs. McNamara will be fully recovered from the bad; cold which has kept her confined to her home. ,&c are sorry to hear that Kathy Weber is in the hospital again in Waukegan. Dickie Morley celebrated his tenth birthday twice, once with his family and grandparents and last Saturday he and his f r i e n d s , M a r k V a n Z e v e r n , George VanZevern, Don Hensley, Rickie Zabski and brothers, Mike and Gary, attended a show and then refreshments. By the way, he's my oldest offspring. Don and Audrey Morin entertained Don's cousin and family last Sunday. Bob and Lois Peterson and two children were here from Chicago. Last Thursday the Moreths and Lindemanns spent the day at Burlington and Lake Geneva, Wis. I did it again. I cheated the Janquarls out of one year of married life. They were married sixteen years on Sept. 7 instead of fifteenth as stated in last week's column. Herb and Lorraine Lindemann spent last Saturday visiting their daughter, Marilyn, in Lansing, 111. On Monday they visited Mr. and Mrs. Zabol in Edgerton, Wis. The going away party for Carol Fet'nerick was held at Janice Janquart's. Each gal came with a dish of food and they gave Carol a gift. Other than Jan and Carol was Tima O'Malley, Lilly Hovseth, Doris Hanson and Grace Reinhardt. Our best birthday wishes to you all. Sodality News The next meeting of the St. John's Blessed Virgin sodality will be held Oct. 9, at which time all new members will be. invested into the sodality. If you have a friend or neighbor who would like to join, bring them with you. Anniversaries Congratulations to Fritz and Sally Von Bruenchenhein on Sept. 28. Best wishes to Pastor and Florence Smith on Sept. 18, also to Hal and Doris Kitterman, who celebrate this month. Many happy returns of the day to Milt and Betty Sandelin on Sept. 12. News of Your Friends and Neighbors Sept. 8 Norm Pederscn was presented with a first place award at a banquet held in Fox Lake for the Northern Illini Bowman association. Norm is an expert marksman and also received an honor from the State of Illinois for his marksmanship. Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie Young from the Highlands also attended the banquet. Sept. 12, eighteen women fathered at the home of Kay Sielisch for a demonstration and birthday honor for LaVerne Madock. The women attending were Jean Tomsa from Sunnyside, Mabel Gregg and Olympia Bessie from Whispering Hills, Alvina Miller, Hilda Thelen and Marie Oeftling from Johnsburc. Lil Orlowski, Gert Snell, Irene Novotny. Grace Reinhardt, Emma Rosengart, Florence Smith, Jane Malek. Anna Cohrs, Lorraine Ullo, Betty Sandelin, LaVerne Madock, and a special guest from McHenry rounded out the guests. Irene' and Joe Novotny feel like the bottom dropped out of everything, now that their son, Joseph, flew back to New York Sept. 11. Also, with the summer at fin end, their children wiil not be able to come so often. Friends and neighbors of Emily Rockcl Were deeply shocked by her death. Emily died at St. Thorese hospital in Waukegan. She was born in Chicago Feb. 9, 191(5. The Rockels moved to the Highlands seven years ago. She is survived by her husband, Victor; three children, Roselyn Bagley of Chicago, Erna Rapp of the Highlands and a son, Donald, who is a sailor stationed in M a r y 1 an d; five grandchildren, two brothers and two sisters. Emily will be missed by many. She died of a heart attack after a year of poor health. She was buried in Chicago last Saturday. Last Saturday Leo Orlowski and Wally Sielisch spent the afternoon in Woodstock on business. The Joseph Hanisches spent last Saturday in Chicago visiting Joe's parents and relatives. Last, Sunday they treated the Sielisches to a delicious turkey dinner. Sept. 17 they celebrated their son, George's, birthday with the Sielisches and friends from Fox Lake. He was 6 years old and enjoyed his party very much. Kay Sielisch's sister, Mary Ann Jesweak, underwent surgery Sept. 10 and is in very serious condition. Her brother, Raymond Wagner, was injured in a freak accident that required many stitches on his head. Last Sunday. Dick and Joan Zilligen and family spent the day in Buttons Bay, Wis., where they enjoyed sailing with Dick's cousin, Ron Zilligen, in his beautiful sailboat. Here and There Last Sunday Ed Thoren's folks, his brother and family were guests at Ed and Virginia's Also last week. Ed and Virginia, son, Craig, and Gloria Waldin went out for dinner together. On Sept. 8, Gloria Waldin was maid of honor and Craig Thoren was an usher at the wedding of Diane Peterson at Wonder Lake at Christ the King church. Mount Hope Church News Sept. 23 the Intermediate Methodist Fellowship will hold their second fall meeting from 7 to 8:45. Any youth in the grades of 6, 7 and 8 are most welcome to attend. Sept. 30 will be rally and promotion day for the Sunday School groups and the youngsters are looking forward to their promotions. Sept. 30, Rev. Woman's Club News The next meeting of the Pistakee Highlands Woman's club will be held Sept. 26 at the Mount Hope Methodist church. Anyone wishing to join the club may do so at this meeting. The deadline for joining will be November 1. This meeting will be a very special one. The V.F.W. post of McHenry will present the club with a beautiful flag. Vi Schuble of the post will make the presentation. This will be held before the meeting starts and since it is such a very beautiful ceremony we should try to be on hand. The meeting will follow the presentation and after the meeting games will be played and refresh m e n t s will be served. The club is working hard toward the annual rummage and bake sale to be hold next month. If you have any rummage, call any of the officers and they will see it is picked up. The women will be pleased when they see how very beautifully the church hall has been tiled and decorated. The kitchen has been completed with built-in cabinets, refrigerator and stove.
