I Red or gray foxes may be Z-B Football Team Defeat Warriors 21-6 McHenry lost its first conference football game last Friday, 21-6. It was too bad that rainy weather stopped many Warrior fans from going to tffif game and cheering for their team. Even though McHenry lost, the team looked good during parts of the game and moved the ball well. However, Zion was an alert team and took advantage of four intercepted passes. In the first quarter, Zion scored on a forty yard pass play and ran for their extra point. Soon, after, McHenry started its most impressive drive of the game. Demonstrating a fine ground game, they moved the ball 55 yards with Fred Schmitt finally carrying the ball over; from the 4 yard line for McHenry's only score. During the second half, all of the scoring was done by a stronger Zion team. Both of Zion's second half scores were started by intercepted passes. One came when Zion's fullback intercepted one and ran forty yards for a touchdown. The other intercepted pass stopped a McHenry drive and gave Zion the momentum to start one of their own which resulted in their final touchdown. Zion scored all of their extra points. Tomorrow night, Sept. 28, Liberty ville will be at McHenry. Let's hope the weather will be good so that we can all go and cheer for our team. Covering the two mile course in fine form. Captain Roland Koerper - crossed the finish line first in the fine time of 10:09.
