COUNTY NURSES TO HEAR OUTSTANDING SPEAKER NOV. 8 The McHenry County Nurses association will meet in the dining room of Memorial Hospital for McHenry County in Woodstock on Thursday evening, Nov. 8, at 8 o'clock, when guest speaker will be Miss Phyllis Snyder of Chicago. Miss Snyder served four years in World War 2 in the Navy Air corps, nursing in psychiatriac units where many alcoholic patients wtie hospitalized. In the intervening years, her work anu interesthave been with alcoholic patients <^n an ir-pa'-icnt. and out-patient basis. At present, Miss Snyder is executive director of the Chicago Alcoholic treatment center, the only municipal facility of its kind in the country. She is considered an authority on alcoholism in women. Almost seventy nurses from Hebron, McHenry, Harvard. Crystal Lake, Marengo, Huntley end Woodstock heard Dr. Fred Slager, cardiologist from Elgin, speak in October.
