MRS. TRYGVE ROGNSTAD Mrs. Trygve (Elsie) Rognstad, 79. a former McCullom Lake resident, died Oct. 31 in Northwest hospital, Chicago, of injuries suffered in a fall in her home. She resided with a daughter, Mrs. Margit Thomsen, in Chicago since the death of her husband in 1955. Mrs. Rognstad was born Feb. 22, 1883, in Norway, and for many years made her home at. McCullom Lake. Other survivors besides the one daughter are three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Segall on "The Psychology Behind the Attitudes Towards Physical Examination" was wefl delivered and held the attention of our members. Mr. Segall called attention to the fact that early detection of cancer is possible by means of complete medical examination. Cure is possible if cancer is diagnosed in proper time. The Cancer Prevention Center of Chicago was opened as a cancer detection center in May, 1943, and was incorporated not for profit in November, 1946. Its purpose is to conduct an educational program to inform the public of the early signs and symptoms of cancer, to find early cancer or pre-canceroits lesions by a complete physical examination and to develop new and better methods in cancer detection. A twelve minute film entitled •'A Step in the Right Direction," narrated by TV's "MAN ON THE GO", Alex , Dreier, helped to make this a wellrounded program of information on cancer control. We would recommend this program to any organization that is looking for an interesting instructive program.
