Craig, Northern Illinois Gas company's district superintendent for the Crystal Lake area, has added the communities of McHenry, Richmond and Sunnyside to his sphere of operations. Craig's position includes developing good community-gas company relations and solving problems of potential gas users in the three towns, in addition to some nineteen other communities surrounding Crystal Lake. McHenry, Richmond and Sunnyside have long been Ihe responsibility of another , NIj Gas district superintendent, ! Howard J. He also reported on the teacher seminars held last year with the staff of District 10 schools in the Wodstock area. Teachers were helped m McHenry Hospital Auxiliary Newt At the annual fall meeting of the Women's auxiliary to McHenry hospital, Mrs. William Straut of Crystal Lake was elected president and Mrs. Claude McDermott of McHenry,, first vice - president. Mrs. C. L. McCallum and Mrs. Harry Stinespring, joint chairmen of the membership committee, invite all the auxiliary to join the membership drive. They remind us that if each member brought in one new member we could double our membership. Even as the 1962 Art Fa'ir committee gave its final report, the 1963 committee -- Miss Mary Klein, Mrs. Charles Leibman and Mrs. Alex Justen -- announced that plans are well under way for the seventh annual Art Fair to be held in McHenry the third week in June, 1963. Mrs. Ben Joshel and Mrs. Bennett Berman are in charge of the July rummage sale. There will be a card party in March or April with chairman not yet appointed. Four members of the women's auxiliary attended a meeting of the women's hospital auxiliaries of Illinois in Peoria. Representing the McHenry auxiliary were Mrs. Fred Fradinardo, Mrs. Lee Gladstone, Mrs. Claude McDermott and Mrs. Henry B. Tonyan. The meeting was held in conjunction with a convention of the Illinois Hospital association, and was designed to increase auxiliary members' understanding of hospital operations, and help enlarge the scope of auxiliary projects. their problems of dealing with the disturbed student in the classroom. The staff consists of a full time psychiatric social worker and administrator, a part time social worker, a full time psychologist, and four part time psychiatrists. ANTHONY FREELS ATTENDS COLLEGE IN CALIFORNIA Anthony G. Freels, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. Freels, 3019 N. Ringwood Road, McHenry, is a freshman enrolled in Taft college majoring in criminology. Freels was a 1962 graduate of San Diego high school, San Diego, Calif. Taft College is a two-year school located in the Southern San Joaquin Valley, in Taft, Calif. It is accredited by the Western College Association, and units earned are transferable anywhere in the United States. A full schedule of lower division courses is offered, and graduates receive an Associate in Arts Degree. COURT BRIEFS In the court of Police Magistrate Donald Howard last Thursday night John B. Pugh, Emerald drive, McHenry, wus fined $17 on a speeding charge. William J. Wilson, 906 S. Marion, McHenry, paid a $25 fine for leaving the scene of an accident. In the court of Justice of the Peace Charles M. Adams three fines were imposed for failure to yield right-of-way. Svoboda, Lilymoor, Howard Lockwood, paid $12 and Ru- Morawec, Chicago. Fred J. paid $20; McHenry, dolph A. paid $15. Fred J. fined $55 usage. Svoboda was for improper also lane John B. Pugh, McHenry, was fined $12 for speeding and $8 for passing in third lane. The Empire State Building has been struck by lightening as much as 13 times during 20 minutes of one storm --without any of the occupants knowing it. ^ Plan Science Fa ir At Marian Marian's Science club began plans for the science fair at their meeting on Nov. 8. William Pelikan, thp Science club moderator, is helping the students plan experiments and exhibits for this annual spring affair. -The Catholic Student Mission crusade is making plans for the annual talent show to be given on Nov. 21. Friday, Nov. 16, a pep ses sion will be held to wind up the season in high spirits for the last game of the year with Saint George's high school m Evanston on Sunday. "Fall Fantasy" is the theme for the Sophomore dance which will be held on Nov. 21, the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, in the school cafeteria.
