Bethel Baptist chapel, located on Route 120 and Lily Lake road, is having services each night this week at 7:30 p.m Everyone is invited to attend. The theme is% "Ye must be born again." Thursday night is family night. At 6 p.m., an old-fashion Thanksgiving dinner will be served. Each family that attends is requested to bring a covered dish. The evening service will begin at 7:30 p.m. A goal of 100 is set for Sunday School attendance for Nov. 25. Pastor Don Alten slates that the goal can be reached if those who have shown an interest will come out that day. This driving error is usually caused by drowsiness, inattention or distraction. Sometimes a car is forced off the roadway by another -vehicle. Spring Grove SODALITY PLANS CHRISTMAS PARTY ON DECEMBER 20 Eva Fri?und Members of the Christian Mothers sodality met at St. Peter's parish hall on Thursday evening. Plans were made md committees appointed for the Christmas party on Dec. 20. There will be a pot-luck supper and a gift exchange. A report was given on the success of the Halloween card party. Following, the meeting an inspiring talk on the Ecumenical Council was given by Father Hoffman. Cards were played and a lunch was served. Clubs Meet Mrs. Helen Smith entertained her club recently and prize winners in the games of five hundred were Mrs. Minnie Pierce, Mrs. Annie Sanders, Mrs. Tillie May and Mrs. M a r y K l e i n . R e f r e s h m e n t s were served by the hostess. The birthday club met at the home of Mrs. Alice Wagner last week. Cards were played and prizes went to Mrs. Tillie May, Mrs. Alice Van- Evert and Mrs. Beulah Karls. Following cards a lovely lunch was served. Members of her club were entertained by Mrs. Louis Kagan on Wednesday night. The awards ,for high scores in five hundred went to Mrs. Marge Schrpeltzer and Mrs. Dolores May. Mrs. Emma Kattner received the consolation prize. A lessert lunch was served. The club will meet next at the Simp of Mrs. Nora Klaus in Fox Lake. Visitors Dinner guests in the Charles Freund home last Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. George P. Freund. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Michels, Mr. and Mrs. Tony Williams, Mrs. Tillie Gerasch, Barbara and Sue, Miss Martha Thennes of McHenry; and Miss Ruth Dunham of Woodstock. There was also a social evening at cards. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Huff of North Chicago visited . friends and relatives here this week. Surgery Mrs. Frank Heineman underwent surgery at Memorial hospital in Burlington, Wis., and we are happy to report that she is recuperating nicely. Dedication at Harvard Mr. and Mrs. Charles Freund attended the dedication of the new Harvard post office on Sunday afternoon. Later they joined a group of postal officials and friends at a dinner held in the American Legion hall. Attend Convention Mrs. Albert Wipper and Mrs. Louis Kagan attended the convention of the National Council of Catholic Women in Detroit. Mich., Nov. 5 to 9. Mrs. Wipper and Mrs. Kagan are on the Rockford Diocesan board of the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women. Visits Grandparents Miss Laurie Tinney returned home to North Chicago after spending several months with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Tinney. Laurie stayed with her grandparents during the time her mother, Mrs. Claire Tinney, was hospitalized. NAME BABY William Robert is the name chosen for the infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Nickels. The baby was born Nov. 9 at Memorial hospital, Woodstock, and weighed 8 lbs., 7% ozs. He has a 214 year old sister, Renee's. The paternal grandparent s are Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Nickels of Woodstock. Swank, executive secretary of the Illinois Public Aid commission, has reported. Although the trend is usually downward during the March- September period, the decrease this year has been considerably larger than it has been for several years. In the past six months, the over-all loads have dropped nearly 40,000 persons, or 8.5 per cent. For comparable months in 1960 and 1961 the percentage declines were 5.3 and 2.3 respectively. According to Swank, the September public aid load numbered 429,444 recipients as compared with 437,525 in Auguest and 424,203 in September. 1961. The McHenry county caseload is as follows: Total -all programs, 565 persons. $25,573; old age assistance, 199 persons. $13,428; aid to dependent children, i75 persons, $6,784; blind assistance, 3 persons, $172: disability assistance, 14 persons, $632; general assistance, 174 persons. $4,557. Albert Pearson was guest speaker on Tuesday evening, Nov. 13, before 5,000 N.F.O. members at their convention held at the Winnebago county fairgrounds field house at Pecatonica, 111. His subject was "Economy in Government". "Economy in Government is not only the duty of the elected officials but the duty -if every citizen," he said. "Good government is everyone's business. Take an active part in it and help build a belter community. better state, and a better country." Four members of the club spoke for a few minutes on various aspects of this theme. Roy Kissling told why he is grateful as a business man, John Looze, why he is grateful as a citizen, Oscar Iber, why he is grateful as a Rotarian, and Jack Mclntyre closed by telling why he is gi^ateful as a person with a religious heritage. ». 1963 LICENSE PLATE DISPLAY DEADLINE FEB. 15 Feb. 15 will be the deadline for displaying 1963 motor vehicle license plates, marking the eighth consecutive year that date has been observed, Secretary of State Charles F. Carj>entier announced today. He emphasized that this is not an application deadline, but rather the final date to have the platen attached to the vehicles. For motorists applying by mail, this means their applications should be in the office no later than Feb, 1, Secretary Carpentier said. He again reminded motorists that they must show the driver license number on the plate application. If the vehicle is registered in two persons' names, t lie drivers license numbers of both of them must be shown. If the applicant does not hold a driver license, the word "none" should be shown. All applications will be returned when the space is left blank or in cases where one numlier is shown when there should be two. Mr. Carpentier said.
