They have decided to return tc Tennessee. We neighbors are sad at the prospect of their leaving us; but happyrfor them, for we believe that they will be happier "back home' now that their days here have known tragedy and loss. The} will live in Tallahoma, Tenn.. about sixty-five miles from Nashville. Mrs. Kimbro says they hope that they won't be forgotten and I know she'll take the (4sime to write to us from time to time. I am positive that every other resident of our community joins with me in wishing them well, for j they will certainly be missed. My folks, Laura and A1 Holtfodt, enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner with their daughter and family, Loretta and Bob Mikkelsen. Mick and Rick enjoyed it, too. We made a tiip into Chicago for cur holiday dinner. We shared the day with all Stan's family including Grandma Walczynski; Aida and Stan Zmudzki and children, Sue, Peg and Bob; Janet and Jim Anderson and children, Steve and Mary Jo; and us, and children. Nov. 2S, Frank Babarsky suffered a heart attack. He was taken by ambulance to McH^pry hospital, where he is reported to be holding his own at this time. [ shall inform you of his progress as I learn of it. Civil Defense We hope that by now you have all received the Civil Defense literature and have read and discussed it. There will be a meetin-T tonieht. Nov. 29, at the John1"burg Community club hall at 8 p.m. They will further inform you on how to utilise the facilities at hand. The regional director of Civil Defense from Battle Creek, Michigan. will he the guest speaker. It will be to your and your family's advantage to be present at this public meeting. Hope you will be INFORMAL THEATRE WORKSHOP OPENS WINTER SEASON The curtain will again be going up as the Woodstock Opera House opens its doors for the winter season, 1962 - 1963. This year the Woodstock Fine Arts association is offering entertainment and instruction for all ages and interests The first in a series of informal theatre workshops began the evening of Nov. 23. These participation classes will be held once a month through May' Adults and young people who harbor a secret desire for the world of grease paint, who enjoy the production of plays and musicals, or who consider the stage a life's ambition will spend many enjoyable hours discussing the theatre with noted experts. On Dec. 19 the subject wil' be set design. Jan. 23 will be devoted to a discussion of make-up and its importance in !he theatre. The discussion for Feb. 20 will center on costumes, their design and effect iveness. March 13 will concentrate on the latest developments and innovations in today's modern theatre. The next workshop on April 17 will con sider authorship and writing for the modern stage. The last workshop on May 15 will deal with publicity and its function in the framework of the performing arts. Ann Vares*1 and comnanv will sing music from "The Music Man" on Dec. 9 at 2:45 p.m. The proceeds from this performance will go to the Woodstock Fine Arts association. On Dec. 29 and 30 a fine nrogram for the "younger set" has been scheduled, offering live entertainment especially reared for those under 10. On Feb. 17 at 2:30 p.m., the popular Pure Oil Glee club will present a concert of choral music.
