They are hoping he will be well enough to go after Christmas. Denise, the granddaughter of Grace Reinhardt, was home from school a few days last week - with the croup. Her great-grandparents, the Snells, kept her with them' and enjoyed entertaining her. Just to make life interesting in the Highlands, we now have a young window peeper on the loose. The boy Foresters will hold their Christmas party today. Dec. 12 the Blessed Virgin Sodality held their pot-luck dinner and Christmas party. The Nuns received their gifts along with all the items for t h e i r p a n t r y s h o w e r . T h e priests were presented with gifts. The members en.ioyed singing carols. After the meeting many stayed to play cards. The sewing guild of the Pink Ladies of the auxiliary to the McHenry hospital held their annual Christmas party Dec. 12, at the home of Nell Bergoner in Johnsburg. The women enjoyed a delicious , pot-luck luncheon. After the business meeting the women enjoyed a irab bag and games. The members ' from the Highlands who attended were Gert Snell, Maree Moreth and Lorraine Lindemann. Diana Jenkins will be hostess for twenty-two of her classmates, all girls from St. John's school. Dorothy and Bob will be very busy preparing for the big event. We send our best wishes for a speedy and full recovery to Rev. Stewart Smith, who is still confined to the McHenry hospital. His kindness and dedication has endeared him in the hearts of everyone and we miss him and all our prayers are with him at this time. All those in attendance donated one or more cans of food and boxes of food were to be distributed to needy families in this area by Rev. Smith, pastor of the Mount Hope church. Due to his illness Rev. Smith was unable to attend the meet? ing and Reb. Sisk appeared on his behalf to accept the donations from Pack 452. Word must have gotten around that 'he boys of pack 452 are especially good boys, "well usually". An unexpected surprise at the meeting was the arrival of Santa Claus, who listened to the hopeful requests of the boys of the things they wanted for Christmas. Santa passed out candy to all. Mark Van- Zevem earned his Bear Badge and Gold Arrows, which was presented to him at the December meeting. Cub Scouts and parents should keep in mind the Sunday of Feb. 10, which will be the date of their annual Bine and Gold dinner.
