The deadline to have the sticker on your car is Feb. 15. Ycu may purchase your sticker or stickers from the village clerk, Pat Morrison, at 119 W. Valley View. Remember the deadline is Feb. 15. Purchase your vehicle sticker now so that you have it on your car and you will not get a ticket alter the deadline. Dog Licenses The deadline for dog licenses is drawing close. The deadline |s Fete 15. If you haven's puryour dog license you /can purchase it from the village clerk Pat Morrison at 119 V. Valley View. Please remember in order to purchase your dog license you must show the current rabies certificate. Without this certificate you can not purchase your license. Like the vehicle sticker the deadline for dog licenses is Feb. 15. Village Clerk's Hours Pat Morrison will gladly take care of any village business Monday through .Saturday. She has no office hours on Sunday so therefore no village business will be taken care of on Sundays. Sunday is a day of rest and like the rest of us she would like to spend the day with her family. Auxiliary News The next monthly meeting of the Woman's auxiliary will be held this coming Monday, Feb. 4, in the large hall of Club Lilymoor at 8 p.m. Hostesses for the February meeting are Ida Legge, Marion Leske and Marylyn LoPresti. Passed Away Our community was saddened to hear of the death of Helen Buchwalter. Helen passed away Saturday, Jan. 13. She had been bad ridden for the past seven years. Before her illness she was a very active person in the community like her husband, Jim, had been. Jim passed away May 9 of last year. They were residents for the past 15 years. Home I am happy to report lhat Jake Johnson returned home from the McHenry hospital Tuesday, Jan. 22, and is feeling much better. Birthday Greetings go to Tena Bellino who will celebrate her big day Saturday, Feb. 2. Many happy returns to you, Tena. Triple Celebration Sunday, ^Jan. 20, >was a big day at the home of Dave and Diane Rasbaugh. It was a day for a triple celebration. Although two of the celebrations fell on Monday, Jan. 14. Sunday was chosen to celebrate them all. On Monday Dave and Diane celebrated their second wedding anniversary. Their daughter, Little Cindy, became a great big one year old. Sunday Dave celebrated his birthday. Diane's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Phil Kibbe of Lakemoor, were there to help them celebrate the three occasions. Congratulations and best wishes go to you all on your anniversary and birthdays. Guests Mr. and Mrs. Brassfield of Sioux City, Iowa, parents of Helen Martin and Tena Bellino were guests of Eunice Tr.bey Friday, Jan. 18.^. All enjoyed playing cards, singing and listening to Eunice play the organ. A lovely supper was served and everyone had an enjoyable time. Baby Shower The Parents Association of the Lakemoor Scouts held a surprise baby shower . n weeone Thomas Pierce, Sunday, Jan. 20. Although Thomas was too small to receive his many beautiful gifts, his mother, Isabelle, was guest of honor for him. Visits Academy Terry Morrison spent Saturday, Jan. 19, as a candidate at the Northwestern Military and Naval Academy at Lake Geneva* Wis. While there he took his entrance exams. He was later notified that he passed and has been accepted into the academy. Confirmations Sunday, Jan. 13, was a big day for Christene, Linda and Susan Zoeltfck, daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Zoelliok. The girls were confirmed together. Their sponsors were for Christene, Margret Kunz, for Linda, Margret Pelinski and for Susan, Ruth Pelinski. 'Those who helped the girls celebrate their big day were Sprinf Grov* "" r Army Promotes Local Soldier Bvt Fveaafl Sfp d Richard Monhardt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Mor.- hardt, who is stationed in Ludwigsberg, Germany, has been promoted from Sergeant Sp-4 to Sp-5. He received a rating of E-5. This is considered outstanding since he has had less than two years of overseas duty. He received his stiipes in a formation ceremony from his commanding officer, who complimented him on his achievements and extended congratulations. He expects to be discharged in ten months when he will return home. His parents and sisters, Mrs. Lolly Class and Mrs. Elfrieda Barth, and families are very proud of him and will be happy to see him again. Girl Scout Meeting Girl Scout Troop 51.9 has Started its schedule of meetings again. They will be held on Monday at 3 p.m. in St. Peter's school hall. Plans for a Valentine party and Court Awards are being made. Clubs Meet Members of her club met at the home of Mrs Nora Miller Thursday afternoon. Games of five hundred were played and prize winners were Helen Smith, Clara Deinlein, Mame Tinney, Minnie Pierce and Emma May. A lovely lunch was served after cards. The firemen held their regular meeting at the fire house on Monday night. Following the meeting a lunch was served and cards were played. The ushers of St. Peter's met at the home of Jack Schmitt on Wednesday night. Preceding the meeting there was a social evening ahd refreshments w£re served. On Thursday evening the Christian Mothers Society c-f St. Peter's met at the parish hall. Cards were played after the meeting and a lunch was served by the committee in charge. The Home and School com mlttee served a hot lunch to the school children on Monday at noon. Hot dogs and barbecue sandwiches and cup cakes were on the menu. Needless to say £he children greatly enjoyed this. J>ave Par Warmer Climates Mr. and Mrs. Harry Myers left Sunday for California to spend the winter months in San Mateo. They will remain until May. Robert Brooks and daughter are in Florida visiting relatives. Return From Canada Mr. and Mrs. William Komar have just returned from British Colombia, Vancouver,, Canada. They enjoyed a two week vacation there visiting relatives. In Washington Mrs. Joanne Rulein was called to Washington state due to the serious illness of her brother. She will remain in Washington for an indefinate time. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Pelinski and family, Mr. and Mrs. William Pelinski and family, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Pelinski and family and Mrs. Zoellick all of Des Plaines. Also Mr. and Mrs. George Kunz of Chicago. A light supper was served to the guests. Marriage On Saturday, Jan. 13, Le Roy Diedrich took as his bride, Miss Pat Mays of McHenry. The Diedrichs were former residents of our community. Congratulations go to you, Le Roy and Pat. Who Are The two friends who more or less kissed each other on the highway Friday, Jan. 18? Seems they had seen each other in town before this and talked to each other. Number one stopped because or cars stopping in front of her. Number two hit a patch of ice and rather than have a serious accident cut to the right, in doing so kissed the bumper of number one (no damage was done to either cars). That's putting a period to the end of a conversation? In talking to number twe she said she was glad there was no damage done and I'm glad it was a friend and not a stranger. Knowing both parties, all I have to 3ay is no more periods on the end of your conversations like that, you two jokers. Obituaried HENRY KOCH Henry Koch, a five-year resident of 5504 Cleveland drive. West Shore Beach, McHenry, died Janr29 at McHenry hospital, where he had been a patient seven days. He was born Jan. 11, 1897. in Chicago, and was a retired truck driver. Survivors include jhis wife, Ntfyrtle; a daughter Mrs. Chester (Lorraine) Hoffman of Lombard; two sons, William of Chicago and Robert at fyome; and five grandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. Koch had been married forty-four years. The body rests at the George R. Justen & Son funeral home until 10 o'clock Friday morning, when services will be hejd at the chapel, with private interment. ROLLO E. SMITH Rollo E. Smith, 82, of 1909 W. Sunnyside Beach drive. McHenry, a twelve-yenr resident of the community, died Sunday, Jan. 27, in his home. He was corn March 13, 1880, in Ithaca, N. Y. Before hit. retirement, Mr. Smith was a salesman of vending machines. The body was removed from the George R. iJusten & Son funeral home to the Peterson chapel at 4338 W. Fullcrton. Chicago. Services were held Wednesday, with burial in Arlington cemetery, Elmhurst. MRS. MARY MIRANDA Mrs. Mary Miranda of Sunnyside, McHenry, died in Harvard hospital Jan. 23, following a short illness. She had resided in this area since 1957. Three daughters and one son survive, including Rose F^tlcetti of McHenry; also ten grandchildren apd... three greatgrandchildren. Her husband, Peter, and one son preceded her in death. JOHN MAGUWE A funeral Mass was sung at St. Joseph's church in Harvard Friday for John J. Maguire, 96, of Harvaid, who died earlier in the week in iiis home. He was a lifelong resident of the area. Besides his widow, he leaves sjx children, including Mrs. William Kreutzer of McHenry. J. R. LADD J. R. Ladd, 67, of Crystal Lake, well known in the McHenry area and throughout ihis part of the state as a land developer, died Monday, Jan. 28, on his birthday at Sherman hospital, Elgin. Mr. Ladd, a World War I veteran, was founder of Ladd Enterprises in 1947. His most current development was Coventry subdivision, Crystal Lake, but previously he was responsible for many new developments in 1 his area. His widow, Florence survives; also one daughter, Mrs. Ambrose Thillman of Lakewood; three sons, David of McHenry, Roger and .Jeffrey of Crystal Lake. A funeral Mass was sung in St. Thomas church, Crystal Lake, Thursday. FRANK CONNOLLY Frank A. Connolly, 67 of Lake Shore drive, Chicago, died Jan. 23 in August ana hospital, Chicago. Mr. Reed was born Jan. 28, 1902, in Solon Mills, son of Chester and Etta Reed.
