The Blue and Gold dinner of the Cub Scout Pack 452 was held ut a restaurant in Fox Lake on Feb. 10. Guests included Rev. Smith of the Mount Hope Methodist church; Henry Zenner, pack leader of Pack 452; Scout Executive, Wayne Sampson; plus all the boys and their parents from Dens 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. Guest speaker was Hugh Kirk. The dinner was delicious and this was followed by a performance by the boys of each den. Naturally, the entire group had a most enjoyable time. Cub Scout* Den 1 of Pack 452, of which Johnny Lakowske is the member, held its weekly mee'ing at the home of their den mother and made a birdfeeder as their project for the week. They also made the "final arrangements for visiting th? post office on Saturday and the Plair.dealer on Wednesday. Busy little Cubs, aren't they? Girl Scouts Troop 88 held its weekly meeting at the school, their usual meeting place. They began with a flag ceremony, followed by dues and attendance. Then they played a Chinese puzzle game and a New Zealand game. After their recreation they got down to real business and worked on their badges. They ended their meeting with a friendship circle. Cookie hostess was Linda Leuth. Troop 295 had to cancel its meeting due to illness once again. However, Marge Palmer and I both attended the NeighjT^ rhood meeting on Wednesday which was very informative. This week (Feb. 26 and 28) the training sessions are being held and Marge and I along with other Scout leaders in the vicinity will be attending. The most recent one was Carol Ann Dehn's party- She shares her birthday with George Washington; or should I say he shares his with her. Anyway, she celebrated the great day of becoming a teenager with a pajama party for nine of her friends, and our Judy was one of them. Did they have a good time? Well, to quote, "We had a blast!" Need I say more. Hirk List I understand Mrs. Mary Mann is very sick with the flu. Also the Anderson children and the Davis children are having a bout with it, or something like it. Marge Farley and family took a drive into Chicago because her mother, Mrs. Lyons, was being taken to the hospital for observation. Stan and I dropped in at the hospital to see Chet Baker. He's looking good and feeling better. Perhaps by the time you read this, he will be home again. Also, I just learned that Herman Mooda is in Sherman hospital in Elgin where he underwent surgery this past week. I'll do my best to keep you posted. Happy Occasions. Everyone has been reminded more than once. Johnsburg P.T.A. The Johnsburg P. T. A. held its monthly meeting Tuesday, Feb. 19, James Kenton gave a talk on "How I Punish My Child and Why." George Perriewe, president, Richard Morely, vice-president, Hazel Morely, secretary, and Esther Ruth. secretary. The meeting ended with refreshments for all. Surprise!!! The Den Mothers of Pack 452 met Monday evening at Marilyn Wiggermann's home to exchange and discuss ideas and projects for the dens. At least that's what Rosemary Lutz thought it was going to be. She was therefore* surprised to ^ee the mothers of her Cubs and a few neighbors there also. The mystery was solved when the ladies presented her with a few thingh for "baby-to-be." Cub Scout News Tuesday's meeting found Den 1 making bird feeders. The boys had a terrific time as they love to work with hammer and nails. Eleanor's dad who is just out of the hospital after surgery will stay in Sunnyside and recuperate. Pat Jablonski's folks, Mr and Mrs. H. Konopa, were weekend guests. Senior Lehmans spent a few days in Chicago visiting with relatives. The Metzgers journeyed to Milwaukee Sunday to attend a birthday party. The Kinders were happy to have Marilyn's folks over for the weekend. The Cammaratas ^ad a house full Sunday when everyone came to help Larry celebrate his twentieth birthday, those attending were sister Judy, sisters Mary and Katherine and their families and brother Phil, with his family.
