W WOMEN TO HEAR LEADING OOP LADY LAWYER Mrs. Charles J. Miller, president, has announced that the McHenry Township Republican Women's club will meet on Tuesday, March 19, at 7:00 p.m. at the V.F.W., McHenry. Special guest of the evening will be Mrs. Adeline Geo-K^ris Lambros. Mrs. Lambros was one of the outstanding candidates seeking the Republican nomination to represent the 12th Congressional district, Mrs. Lambros, a native of Greece, is now a practicing lawyer in Waukegan. She served in the Waves; is still a member of the Naval Reserve; and in December, completed a tour of duty at the Pentagon, Washington, D. C. Mrs. Lambros is active with the Republican Federation of Lake County, and also serves as parliamentarian of the 12th Congressional District Republican Women's club. "The Liberal Papers," a compilation of foreign policy ideas, will be reviewed by Mrs. Lambros. The book, edited by James Roosevelt, has been the subject of criticism by those who denounce it as a "blueprint of appeasement and eventual surrender of the United States to the Soviet Union." This promises to be a very stimulating program, and it is hoped that all Republican women of the area will attend. While the club is formally called the McHenry Township Republican Women's club, any Republican woman of the surrounding area is eligible for membership. For further information, contact Mrs. Charles J. Miller, president, or Mrs. Thomas Davis, vice-president. CARD OF THINKS We would like to take this opportunity to thank members of both the Spring Grove and Fox Lake fire departments, and any other persons who helped in an effort to save outbuilding at the time of Monday's fire. Jones also called attention to the policy declaration of the national association encouraging wheat farmers to vote against the wheat referendum being submitted by the USDA this year. The most pains-taking scion* tific efforts have gone into the "force-growing" of the flowers. As an example, The Amlings Flowerland display a huge urn oi 500 Pink Sensation roses with five foot stems. Haussermann's Orchids will show thousands of the exotic beauties in a luxurious tropical display. The "Rose of the Year," Tropicana and the Chicago Peace Rose will also be harbingers of spring with their full-coiored buds. Months of preparation have been needed to assure flower lovers that these plants will appear at their loveliest. * Plants and blossoms from all parts of the world will be featured in this largest of all flower shows. In "Flower Markets of the World," typical street scenes with vendors stands and barges will be depicted from Italy, Japan, Mexico and Holland. Sponsored by the Allied Florists Association, this exhibit will show flowers typical to these varied climates and growing conditions. The entrance garden, the Show's largest, covering over 9,500 square feet, is being developed by the Chicago Park District. Resplendent with magnolias, camellias and azaleas, "Salute to the Southland" is a reproduction of the plantation gardens of the ante-bellum South. It's stately mansion facade provides a classic backdrop for the gracious expanse of lawn and brilliant contrast of bloom.
