A beautiful wedding was" solemnized in St. Mary's Catholic church on Saturday morning, May 4, at 10 o'clock, uniting in marriage Miss Sally Niesen of 1603 N. Riverside drive, McHenry, and Mr. Ronald Glosson of 5402 W. Rt. 120 West, McHenry. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Niesen and the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Glosson. Rev. Fr. Eugene Baumhofer officiated at the nuptial service, wiih the choir offering appropriate music. The altars of the church were decorated for the occasion wit h two vases of white carnations. Attending Miss Niesen were Laurayne Conway of McHenry, her cousin, as maid of honor, Zolinda Bennett of Wonder Lake, a friend, and Diane (ilosson of McHenry, the groom's sister, as bridesmaids. Diane Milinac of Woodstock, niece of the groom, was the pretty flower girl. Dark-haired Miss Niesen approached the altar, lovely in a gown of white silk organza and chantilly lace over taffeta. It was detailed with a fitted bodice of lace and long, tapered sleeves. Her sabrina neckline was embroidered with iridescent sequins and seed pearls, and her full organza skirt was fashioned of a lace applique panel and organza bows- The tiered back, also of ot^anza and embroidered lace, fell gracefully into a chapel length train. Her threo-tiered fingertip illusion veil was held in place by a scalloped crown of silk organza and jewel-studded blossoms. The attendants were attired similarly in gowns of sata peau, pale yellow in color, with scoop necklines and three quarter sleeves. Removable two-tier overskirts, with bows, caught the waistline. Their crowns were of pale yellow, adorned with pearls. Small Diane wore a yellow dress with matching lace jacket and carried a basket of white flowers. On her head she had a band of yellow roses. Gene Glosson of McHenry served his brother as best man and groomsmen were Mike Niesen of Elgin, brother of the bride, and Douglas Glosson of Cary, brother of the groom. Gregory Fender of Champaign, cousin of the bride, was the ring bearer. For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. Niesen selected a pink and white silk sheath with matching coat of silk organza, and pink accessories and white orchid corsage. Mrs. Glosson wore a blue lace over silk sheath with matching jacket, beige accessories and white orchid corsage. A breakfast followed the ceremony at the bride's home for the wedding party. Later, a reception for 175 was held at the McHenry Country club, with Judy Crossin in charge of the guest book. The miniature bride and bridesmaids on the cake, and the good luck horseshoe had been used on Miss Niesen's parents' cake at their wedding 23 years ago. The newlyweds left on a trip West, and upon their return will reside at 1507 N. Green street, McHenry. The bride is a 1961 graduate of McHenry high school, where the groom graduated in 1958. He is in business with his father. JOHN C. WIRFS TAKES BRIDE IN MORRIS CHURCH * Miss Sharon Marie Klinlcer of Rt. 5, Morris, 111., and Mr. John C. Wirfs of 3830 McCullom Lake road, McHenry, exchanged nuptial vows last Saturday, May 4, in a wedding ceremony which took place in Immaculate Conception church, Morris. Fr. Bowden Lloyd officiated at the 10 o'clock Mass, celebrated in a church de corated with bouquets of white mums. The new Mrs. Wirfs is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Everett K1 inker and her bridegroom is t he' son of Mr, and Mrs. Clem Wirfs. The charming bride chose a gown of taffeta, with fitted bodice, long tapered sleeves and scoop neckline edged in chantilly lace. The full skirt swept gracefully into a chapei train. Her three-tier imported silk illusion bouffant veil held a pillbox of matching fabric trimmed in lace and pearls. Attending the bride were June Ann and Georgia Rae Klinker of Morris, sisters of the bride and Kathleen LaFontalne of McHenry, her cousin. They wore poudre blue sheer dresses over taffeta, with fitted bodices, brief sleeves and sheath skirts, the over-skirts of sheer nylon, with inserts of lace. The circular veils held Swiss braid crowns with pearls. Clem Wirfs, Jr., served his brother as best man and Raymond Corlew of Morris and John Miller of McHenry were groomsmen. Mrs. Klinker chose a pink taffeta and chiffon dress with pink accessories and white carnation corsage. Mrs. Wirfs wore a Navy blue sheath With coat to match, white accessories and a similar corsage. Fifty guests gathered at the Morris Union hall at 12:30 for breakfast. An evening reception was held for 275 at the Legion home in McHenry. The newlyweds left on a one-week trip West, and will make their future home at 417 N. Hill road, McHenry. The bride attended Morris Community high school and has been employed in the Morris paper mill. The groom received his education in the McHenry high school and is employed in the well drilling business with his father. Relatives from Oshkosh, Berlin, Bassett and Milwaukee, Wis., and Rockford attended the reception. She was also interested in politics, and served as precinct captain under the late Alderman James Bowler. Now her Interest centers around her grandchildren. Mercure. The pretty bride is - the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chester J. Szczupak of 712 N. Center street, McHenry, and the groom is the son of Mrs. Rita Mercure of 712 W. Rand road, Lilymoor. Rev. Fr. Raymond Holmgren officiated at the ceremony, which was performed in a church decorated for the occasion with bouquets of white glads. The children's choir offered appropriate music for the nuptial rite. The radiant bride, given in marriage by her father, approached the altar wearing an imported French chantilly lace dress, cathedral length, with lace bodice and long sleeves. The lace skirt had crystal pleating, with clusters of imported French silk flowers. Pearls and sequins encircled the bodice and the train. Her veil was a double wedding cake crown of alencon lace with sequins and pearl trim, from which fell a three-tier veil of imported English silk illusion in chapel length. Francine and Thomas Hebert, daughter and son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hebert of Chicago, were the miniature bride and groom, Francine attired in a dress identical with that of the bride, who is her aunt. Attending the bride were Mrs. Laveme Hebert, sister of the bride, as matron of honor, Mrs. Judy Deering of Chicago, Miss Pat Corso and Miss Jill Reilly of McHenry. They wore similar dresses fashioned of silk organza over taffeta, in white, with over-skirts of white organza embroidered in yellow shades of flowers and edged with gold silk organza.
